As someone who has used PEDs in the past, has done presentations in college on the effects of anabolics and have friends who compete in untested powerlifting still to this day. I also have been annoyed with all the miss information and wrong verbiage being thrown around the CrossFit community. So glad you made this video! You explained a lot of it very well and I hope people watch it and have a better understanding. Another great job, keep it up brother! 👍🏼

CrossFit feels like Lance Armstrong Tour De France Cycling in the early 2000s. We know they are doing stuff, but the chemists are way ahead of the testings. And we won't know until 15-20 years later when the interviews, lawsuits, and books come out.

Nah, it's not that sophisticated. The testing in CF is very beatable. One might even argue it's intentionally easy to beat.

@@Drumz_of_Liberation Hence the feeling of early 2000s cycling. Like how UCI would collude with teams like US Postal.

Blood doping. Unless CF starts testing hematocrit, they won’t know. SARM metabolites hang out for a very (unknown) time.
@ClockCutter2 жыл бұрын
CF is nothing like cycling in the early 2000s. Big name riders were getting popped a lot, before, during, and after the early 2000s. High hematocrit levels. Recombinant EPO. Test. Steroids. Cortisol. The test for recombinant EPO came out in 2000 and popped some big riders right away. Riders shifted toward blood doping and micro-dosing EPO. The UCI employed a test for blood transfusions that could detect the difference between old and new red blood cells and caught Tyler Hamilton in 2004. The only major PED they couldn't test for at the time was HGH, or some were saying at the time. That is, the tests caught the "chemists" in the early 2000s and it produced carnage in cycling. Further, several European countries criminalized PEDs, and hence the police were able to catch riders with syringes and PEDs in possession, and in some they cases elicited confessions simply through interrogations. The best doctors, like Armstrong's doctor Michele Ferrari, kept their riders from getting popped not by giving them stuff that couldn't be tested for, but by carefully administering the right amount at the right times. And even then riders were vulnerable to off season surprise tests. Armstrong almost got popped for this, but he was able to delay the test long enough to reduce the chance of popping positive. I.e., the sport was getting decimated throughout the 2000s, a good while before Armstrong was exposed. "List of doping cases in cycling" on wiki goes through a lot of this.

There are also topical TRTs that are prescribed by doctors. These are fat soluble so, in specific regions of the skin, lose dose testosterone can be absorbed. The topical ones don’t normally need to be cycled, but they also don’t raise one’s testosterone benchmarks up very high during blood work. My doctor prescribed this one to me because I am a regular blood donor and the blood bank will not take blood from someone getting injections of these sort. My main issue was a drop in erythrocyte count, thus one has to understand that steroid will not only facilitate protein building in say muscle but also increase hematocrit (increase in RBC counts).

I’m with Tom. I liked that your video is educational in the fact that it gets on my nerves when people use the term steroids instead of PEDs. And when people who have no clue about the different PEDs and atleast a baseline of what they do or how they work and make comments in the comment section. I have an unpopular opinion on them, but I understand them enough. They are in all sports. So, it’s doesn’t phase me that some CF athletes are using.

I like Tom! I’ve been on TRT since I was 32! I’m now 41 and my levels stay around 800 ng/dL Half of 200 mg of testosterone a week. I’ve done Crossfit for about four or five years on and off during that time I was 6 foot one weigh 250 pounds my max back squat was 390, my max clean was 285, Bench press 265, Dead lift 420. Just your below average mediocre crossfitter. Testosterone will make you a better version of yourself but it’s not gonna give you what you need to compete at an elite level what’s gonna get you to compete at an elite level is being consistent in your training and even then some of these guys have great genetics no matter how much testosterone I took and how many PED‘s or anabolic‘s are took I will never be at the level or be able to get to the level of some of these elite guys. I do believe that there are athletes using PEDs I think there are a lot more people accusing these people of taking these things because they are too lazy to either put in the work them self or they have normal jobs like the rest of us and they don’t have the time to put in the work that these guys are putting in to get the results.

A couple of questions here in regards to the trt part of this video. If you could elaborate that would be great please. So he dropped weight and got stronger. Could that just be from his test levels becoming a "normal" level? And he mentions a trt "cutting phase" where he dropped 100 pounds in 4 years. Which is pretty doable without trt. Did he get stronger when he was 198 as well?

Lot of professional athletes microdose. Kenny Stills in the NFL just recently did an interview. It helps you focus and you are more alert, kinda like adderral, but your senses feel a little heightened like an animal and you’re in a very pleased uplifting mood lol

The one guy in my high school who did some peds/steroids/smth, he even asked if I could score horse cough medicine for him - as it contained Clenbuterol, DIED when he was 35 years old. Left a wife and 3 daughters behind.

I honestly think that a unregulated CrossFit Games will defeat the whole purpose of the fitness, like yeah it would be f*ing amazing to see what a boosted athlete can do but I think this would encourage people to do it. In conclusion: don’t to drugs.
@dhall756082 жыл бұрын
What if we are already seeing what boosted athletes are doing? To think that none of the elite athletes aren’t using some sort of PED is naive to think.

Nice work again. Simple for me, No drugs (period). Like one of the other Darthbane said. Have a look at Cadel Evans came 8th in the 2005 Tour de France, and subsequently everyone above, Armstrong top, tested positive or was involved in doping. Same with weight lifting at international level , they were forced to clean up the sport or face no competition due to rampant drug use. We even can go back as far as 1988 Seoul Oly, we all remember Ben Johnson. But let's not forget, America's favourite sprinter, Carl Lewis tested positive for performance enhancing stimulants, but allowed to compete. Let's hope it's not happening in this Sport. Good work AH

Adding an untested division won’t stop doping in the tested division. Why be mediocre in the untested if you can beat the testing and place high in the tested? Particularly, when there is so little money available in the industry.
