Hindus rally in Kolkata, Bangladesh to protest Chinmoy Das's arrest | DD India

Protests erupted in Kolkata and Bangladesh in response to the arrest of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishnadas, sparking widespread outrage among the Hindu community. The protests highlight concerns over escalating violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, including attacks on temples and homes during recent Puja festivals. India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar condemned the violence and urged the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of its religious minorities. While Bangladesh's High Court declined to intervene in the case, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and international figures, including American singer Mary Millin, called for Krishnadas' release and greater protection for religious freedoms in Bangladesh.
