Another fantastic tree and more great tips. I really like that you style your trees with an eye towards multiple "fronts". Thanks and keep 'em coming!

As much of a deciduous nut I am I would probably say this hinoki is the best tree you’ve put on your channel so far

It’s been a fun tree for me. I have hardly any evergreens, and this is one that has actually been with me for quite awhile.

I dont know who gave this a thumbs down. I say this deserves two very strong thumbs up. And that frog was good luck, he made sure no bugs attacked your tree.

I appreciate that. The frog was a welcome guest, for sure. I’m just really glad I didn’t injure it while working on the tree.😅

Hi Jared. Nice bonsai. At 9.01 when you look at the stone, it looks like a dear skull laying on the side. I´m an artist so i see things like that all over in nature.

I enjoy finding images in objects as well. I think it’s a good indicator of a very open mind.

I enjoy working on it. It grows slowly, so the work is quite spread out compared to many of my other trees. Not much to do with it the rest of this year. 😁

I’ve always had mixed feelings about it. Many people have said they really like it, so perhaps it’s meant for another artist after all🤔...

It’s really a beautiful Hinoki. The ones for sale from the nursery was all straight up, but still beautiful, but yours is a lot better 👍

Great! Glad to subscribe. Jeremy, from Instagram. I tried a couple of mass produced Bonsai that failed. But I've always wanted to have a nice forest of them. Your greenhouse looks super nice and like something that would work in my back yard!
@BonsaiEcho5 жыл бұрын
Jeremy_a_ventures, right? Awesome! So glad you made it🤛🏼. Yah, the mass produced bonsai many times just can’t hang. I’ll be documenting my greenhouse cleanup this week and talking about improvements/adjustments I’m considering. Better snow-load handling for one. I don’t always get snow, but when I do it sure does a number on everything since it is wet and heavy.

Great work man, I am starting out at bonsai and the hardest part is seeing the vision when styling for me right now.
@BonsaiEcho5 жыл бұрын
Volume of experience is what will bring the vision. Keep finding material to work with. Keep observing real trees. Keep searching for Bonsai perspectives that you relate to. You can do this👏🏼!

So what time of year did you do this in what grow zone, and do you think it's is too late to wire hinoki in the US zone 6 late November? That was a pretty good bend you did mid trunk 6 years or so back. Same timing? Looking good :)
@BonsaiEcho4 жыл бұрын
Now is still a good time to wire as long as the freeze hasn’t already set in. I would wait for major bends though. I prefer active growing season for the best healing of severe bends on evergreens.
@bonsaiguy654 жыл бұрын
@@BonsaiEcho Thank you. I had one balk that I wired gently last Fall (golden variety had responded well to stying/wiring Aug 2018) and I just wired two sekka hinokis this wk. Watched Bjorn in Tennesee advocate late Spring early Summer styling. So was curious your unknown timeline in this video. Location and time is always helpful when shooting video. Again, yours is looking good, thanks.
@BonsaiEcho4 жыл бұрын
Spring/Summer is what I mean by growing season. It’s a good time to style because the plant will respond within the season to start setting branches in place and the foliage can grow some to fill in the image. Be prepared to be patient with a Hinoki in a bonsai pot. They grow quite slowly once their roots are restrained. Have fun with it. Hinokis are fun!

Hi bonsai echo, how to winterized this tree?
@BonsaiEcho2 жыл бұрын
This tree sits outdoors during winter. My climate is mild with temperatures rarely below 20° F. When the temperature drops lower, I place the bonsai on the ground against a fence to protect from drying winds.

This one was originally just like that too. Initial bending was done about 10 years ago utilizing 3 rebar stakes and some😬serious guy wiring.

KESH HERE I HVE A SIMILAR TREE FOLIAGE IS TURNING YELLOW I LIVE IN UK ANY SUGGESTIONS
@BonsaiEcho5 жыл бұрын
Yellowing or browning of the interior foliage is normal autumn behavior for evergreens. It can also happen anytime of the year due to drought. If you’d like, you can direct message me through Instagram or find me on Facebook and I would be happy to help provide more information if I can.
