Yes Geoff is a one man group. His covers are not a capella however, he does create musical backing for his songs. There are other bass voices out there but there is a smoothness and warm tone to his voice which sets it apart from most.

Geoff is a one man choir... his range lets him cover deep bass to tenor, and all ranges sound great!

This was my introduction to Geoff and later on to VoicePlay, cause i searched for more. Fell in love with his warm and comforting deep voice on the first note. That's why this one will always have a special place in my heart. But there are so many more songs from him that i love. Can't list them up. Actually there's not a single one i don't like😂

Geoff is the BEST! You need to hear "I See Fire.." And .. and .. and, and... lol... Egads! Each one is super. "House of the Rising Sun," "Ain't No Sunshine," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Sound of Silence...." methinks you get my drift lol

The 3 exceptionally deep notes in this song are all actually the same - G1 - but are sung using 3 different techniques. The first is a subharmonic, a technique for singing low notes that Geoff has been practicing for years and has pretty much perfected at this point. It involves Geoff actually singing a note an octave above the target - so in this case, he's actually singing a G2 - and using a "vocal fry" technique that generates a harmonic of the note he's singing that is exactly 1 octave below that note - so, a "subharmonic" since it's generating a harmonic below the actual sung note. The second is the same G1, but this time in Geoff's chest voice - something not a lot of bass singers can get to. And the final note is again a chest G1, but a very breathy and extended version.

This is Geoff's idea of "solo"! Try his latest, Big Iron! It showcases his range beautifully!

Geoff isn't acapella. He uses instruments. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own name, range and personality..... Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl. He did "Ghost Riders In The Sky" a couple of years ago with the clones as the ghost riders. Several months ago he brought back the ghost riders in "Unshaken" when they were still alive. Geoff has a ton of fantastic videos to choose from. His latest video is "Big Iron". Welcome to the Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole 🐰

Geoff's solo work isn't acapella, he does use instrumentation. He says that he wants to keep his accapella arrangements to his VoicePlay work. This is one of his most-viewed videos, along with "Sixteen Tons", but I personally much prefer his arrangement of "I See Fire" from the Hobbit to this one, because to me it's more emotional and you get to hear so much more of his range. He did a phenomenal "Jack's Lament" from 'Nightmare Before Christmas' last year as his Halloween song (he and VoicePlay loved to do Halloween stuff), but just all of his solo work is worth listening to. Just kind of depends on what genre/age of music you want to listen to. Hope you do more reactions to him.

Thank you for a great reaction to Geoff Castellucci. Please do a reaction video to one of Geoff's newest solo covers ... Don't Mess Around With Jim. Also his solo cover..Big Iron. Geoff always stays true to the original but always adds extra bridges . As an example, you can compare this song in ( Original Big Iron Vs Geoff Castellucci's Cover )

If you put Geoff's name in the title, you will get more views. There are many of us who search for new reactions daily. Geoff and Voiceplay are completely independent - no label, no management. They do all of their own arrangements, videos, production, editing. Check the credits, they are very transparent. I See Fire from the seond Hobbit movie is even better than this one. Trust me!

After this one, do react to I See Fire - it's from the second Hobbit film Desolation of Smaug and the characters are the same. Another couple I love are Unshaken and Jack's Lament.
