I was never really a fan of Architects from their earlier days, but I went in on 'All Our Gods...' and was blown the fuck away. I quickly realised how much they had matured and the rawness, the realness and the anger at where they had gotten to came right through. As soom as 'Nihilist' kicked in I was thinking "Shit, these boys are piiiiiissed". Hooked. And then the raw emotion of 'Doomsday'. I'll be paying attention from here on out.

I love how the artists continue to decompose throughout the song and then finally become one with the universe. There's a part which you missed in the starting of the video where a galaxy turns into an eye, and I believe that's just a wonderful portrayal of how the universe is inside of you until you dissipate and become one with the universe again. This is one hell of an immersive music video and I'm buying their entire discography after this.

Definitely one of the best metalcore band out there today. I've never given these guys much of a chance (don't know why) but got told that their live shows are on another level and life changing? Also their lyrics are meaningful and not about the typical angst/relationship issues. Plus musically impressive. With all these progressive elements. I'll have to give them a proper listen

Max Lastockin I saw them three times ans they disappointed every single time... Really wantes to like them... but I was just so disappointed

I'm sorry but there are way better Metalcore bands active today. Architects is just another clean, over produced, Warp Tour Metalcore band out to cash in on underground music. The positives I see are the progressive elements make this song slightly more interesting and they are probably a good gateway to heavier music. Check out Code Orange, Integrity, Converge, xElegyx, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried and Me. These are doing way more to move this genre forward as well as respecting the roots of Metalcore which is the combination of Metal and Hardcore Punk. Code Orange puts on insane live performances that will not disappoint!
@1sad_latvianboi7076 жыл бұрын
Obitvary I should have said one of the best sorry. And I don't know I wouldn't necessarily call some of the bands you've listed as metalcore. Not to start the whole subgenre debate or anything. I'm familiar with btbam and dillinger. They're more on a technical/progressive side which is cool. As far as metalcore goes I haven't really been keeping up with it as much, mostly coz stuff I keep running into only consists of breakdowns every few bars and very cheesy generic lyrics. But I'll give those other bands a listen that you've mentioned :) thanks

Max Lastockin I must concede on that point. Architects is one of the few bands of which I can say I love every single album through and through (from hollow crown onwards). Deep lyrics on topics that leave most bands in the dust. And their live show... I went alone as nobody else was interested and was blown away. The audience was ecstatic and the connection between band-audience was unbelievably powerful. If you ever get the chance, go see them live at the very least.

I love this band so much. I have seen them five times in total and every concert is a blast. They kick some serious ass. I have such huge respect for them to continue what they love doing after Tom passed, so that he is remembered and honored. Rest in peace Tom, we all love you and my outmost respect for Dan. Stay true!!!

I'm pumped you got to listen to this one. Such a good song and video. You need to check out Erra - Skyline It's got that similar epic feel with the singing and screaming combo that you like. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome content as always, Alex! You seem really genuine and you are my favorite reaction channel by far! As I stated in a previous video, consider reacting to Silent Planet (Panic Room), Fire from the Gods (Excuse me), Avatar (Bloody Angel), Beartooth (The Lines), Mastodon (Blood & Thunder), Code Orange (Forever) and Meshuggah (Bleed)! Cheers from France!

Great reaction, thoughtful as ever. Now that you have a few Metalcore groups under your belt I'd recommend some Hardcore. Its not necessarily melodic but the energy is unmatched. Stagedives and high fives! Terror - Live By The Code Knocked Loose - Billy No Mates // Counting Worms Turnstile - Drop Angel Du$t - Headstone

I've grown up my whole life listening to metalcore and post-hardcore, with my first band I was addicted to was The Devil Wears Prada when I was about 6-7 (I had influences in my life that got me hooked to heavy music very early). I'm now 19 and produce ambient and atmospheric hip hop and r&b, but nothing can ever replace some of the insane feelings that these bands give. Architects is one of my most favorite bands of all time, RIP Tom and thanks for being such a huge inspiration, and shoutout to you for being an open minded person like myself and some others and learning to appreciate multiple genres.

And still suggesting All that Remains - This Calling or Some of the people, all of the time xD Similar style to Architects. What you like (Mix between screaming and singing) is mostly found in Metalcore like this one, All that Remains, Bullet for my Valentine, Threat Signal etc....

Love, love, love Architects! RIP Tom, you will be missed. I found peace in this song after my friend's passing but under different circumstances, it was sudden and unexpected. It was all of my anger, anguish, and coming to terms with his death wrapped up in a song and music helped me not drown myself in alcohol to cope
