I never liked what I heard from Architects until this song dropped and then I got it. I have now gone back through their discography and have realized the greatness.

Your reaction is the same as mine My girlfriend got a text from me in the morning when i first listened it because she didn't know what was going on... I just wrote: "Holy fucking shit! I'm going insane right now!" This band means so much to me! Met them backstage once and they are all such nice guys.... I have their album AOGHAU inked on my hands... They are IMO the most important band this century!
@Northgodd7 жыл бұрын
Pix Wibmer I love it. AOGHAU is one of the best albums ever written. And the hidden messages in the album (which I didn't know Tom had cancer) were incredible. When I listened to AOGHAU after Tom passed it all made sense and really shocked me. Architects won't be the same without Tom and I'm so glad he and Architects have had such an impact on our generation and generations to come. \m/

God damn man, I've been listening to Architects for about a year now but only just discovered about the passing of Tom, and the bands history. This just adds a whole new level of emotion to the song. I'm in fucking tears I don't know what to say. Rest in peace Tom, Long live Architects.

I have never seen a band pull so much emotion into a song before. Right when he started singing I could hear the pain, the anger in the screams, and the confusion of the video. My heart goes out to these guys and I hope they are doing alright. This is a changing point in musical history, and it deserves to be heard. Phenomenal band, phenomenal people. Much love!

AMAZING !!! Felt the same way. Love, how Dan is apparently playing as Tom in this video transcending to another plane of existence. The part "Death is an open door" remainded me of something. Just checked the lyrics for Memetno Mori and there it was, this exact phrase, in the end just before Tom's final statement: ... It's a promise that you cannot break Was your life worth dying for? The universe survives on give and take Death is an open door It's a promise that you cannot break Was your life worth dying for? The universe survives on give and take Decay is the only law Swan song A declaration of endlessness I swear I will not look back As I return into the black When the veil lifts, how will I know? Will I see God? ... That's why I cannot listen to Memento Mori - it's hits too hard with Tom's sudden passing.
@Northgodd7 жыл бұрын
Synth Runner Dude. Everything you said is spot on. Dan was living through Tom in this video and song. I think that's why it's hard for me to watch. Memento Mori is hard for me to listen to. All our gods have abandoned us from start to finish is story. To end that album with Momento Mori is emotional but needed. As "Architects" fans now and for the future I think it will only get easier to listen that album. And if not easier hopefully more peaceful for everyone. \m/

Yeah, it always gets me emotional, even after the 25th view. I cannot get myself to hear it without the video, yet. I always get goosebumps and the part 'I have to do it for you' always brings a tear in my eyes. But it gives me much needed energy, confidence and had helped me make soome tough decisions. Powerful, raw and envigorating, the emotions are a given.

Was so well done showing Tom going into the light and all, moving to someplace better whatever that is. So much respect for the architect guys for just continuing without Tom and making such a great song. He would be so proud of you guys! I just noticed on that picture on the right of the screen that states ARCHITECTS + DOOMSDAY letters TS are put in a row alone. I don't know if that does have any reference with what I imagine but maybe it means Tom Searle as a tribute to him. I got really emotional the moment I saw it. :,(

@TakeOnNE17 жыл бұрын
I knew you'd enjoy this one. Even the music video is good. I'm pretty sure it's suppose to be Tom playing as Dan, and Dan ascends into the universe and then Dan is playing himself at the end holding a fragment representing what his brother left behind. Wisdom, knowledge, love etc. I know you usually dislike cleans, but what did you think of them here? at first I was like uh oh, did they go in a different direction? But then they hit us with that amazing Architects sound we all know and love. I am so fucking hyped for this album.
@Northgodd7 жыл бұрын
Memento Mori This song is incredible and the video is emotional. Architects have few cleans here and there, with this song I thought (at first listen) they were changing their sound. Maybe leaving the screams behind and for a second I was bummed. But when that sound of "Tom" kicks in and the break before the screams you already knew their gonna hit this hard. And they did and I'm so happy for them. This album will be incredible. Cannot fucking wait.
