Gone With The Wind by Architects is a must watch. If you watch it understanding it was written by a man dying of cancer, the lyrics are gut-wrenching. One of the the most emotionally powerful songs ever written.

to give context as well, most fans had no idea when the news dropped as they kept it really close to the chest.

@@mannyblackstarrespectfully, you couldn’t be more wrong. And while I’m at it, I’d like to thank you, and people like you, for inspiring Architects to write “Seeing Red.”

@@RyanLoper9 yes but still that song isn't Architects. I'm fine that bands make their fans believe that this is the music which will shut fans turned into naysayers but it doesn't bother them. I love Architects but their new work isn't Architects. I'll stick to the old music of them. But what I said is true. Song "Royal Beggars" is written for people like you.

The emotion in this song is so much deeper when you know the history. It was released after the death of a band member…with that in mind…the video…the lyrics…the performance…they’re just so powerful.
@shellbell402 жыл бұрын
Love Architects! This song was the first song they released after the death of their lead guitarist Tom Searle. Who is also the brother of the drummer. Tom was their main song writer, he didn't finish writing this song before his death. The band finished it for him. The lyrics have a harder hit when you know the background of it. Please check out more from them. Gone with the Wind, Animals, Hereafter, and Gravity are some of my favorites from them. You might also like Black Lungs. They also have a series of songs they did at Abbey Road with an orchestra :)

That song hits so hard. I lost my best friend to cancer a few months before Tom (their guitarist) died from cancer. I thought I lost my best friend and my favourite band at the same time because I couldn't imagine that they would go on making music. Then they released this one year later, while I was at work. I took a break and listened to it, tears in my eyes. This song attached me to this band forever. I still cry when they play it live. I also absolutely love their song "A Wasted Hymn" which kind of finishes that painful chapter of Tom's Death and simultaneously helped me find some closure regarding my best friend's death, because "All is not lost".

Remember when Hell had frozen over? The cold still burns underneath my skin The water is rising all around me And there is nothing left I can give All these tears I've shed I saw the wildfire spread You said you cheated death But Heaven was in my head They say "the good die young" No use in saying "what is done is done" 'cause it's not enough And when the night gives way It's like a brand new doomsday What will be will be Every river flows into the sea, but it's never enough And when the night gives way It's like a brand new doomsday No matter what they say It's like a brand new doomsday The embers still glow when I'm sober The gold in the flame burns brighter now I have to rebuild, now it's over Maybe now I'm lost, I can live Souls don't break, they bend But I sometimes forget I have to do this for you And the only way out is through Yeah, death is an open door Words the prophets said Still swimming through my head Now there's no stars left in the sky 'Cause this well will never run dry What if I completely forget? What if I never accept? 'Cause when you fade away It's like a brand new doomsday Yeah They say "the good die young" No use in saying "what is done is done" 'cause it's not enough And when the night gives way It's like a brand new doomsday What will be will be Every river flows into the sea, but it's never enough And when the night gives way It's like a brand new doomsday No matter what they say It's like a brand new doomsday

Sam Carter is one of the best metal vocalists out there.... cleans, highs, lows he can do it all
@Wobblyrage Жыл бұрын
To me this song is the band sending Tom (their late band mate, twin brother of the drummer and friend) off to heaven! Sam literally sings:” I have to do this for you”. That broke my heart. When I looked into what actually happened, all the lyrics just had so much more meaning to it. My own parents died at a young age, so “they say the good die young” just kills me every time…. I really hope you can do more Architects if the algorithm lets you. If you do, I strongly suggest Gone with the wind.

If you want their lyrical best I would highly recommend "These Colours Don't Run" (2012) & "Gravedigger" (2014). Although in truth they have so many to pick from... especially off of that 2014 record (Lost together, lost forever). 🤘👍😁

Great reaction... I've heard few others by Architects, but not this one... not my fav from them, but is a gd song... the screaming threw me off a bit, cause couple I've heard, didn't come off like that.... "Dead Butterflies" & "Animals".. are my favorite, Architects definitely have their own unique style, and vocalist has an amazing voice!

Guys you missed the last 20 secs????? Still hopefully its opened the door to more ARCHITECTS. ‘Animals’ live from Abbey road studios with an orchestra is an absolute MUST. Tbh anything from the most recent album ‘For those that wish to exist’ is worth listening to. There is so much variation around their metal core roots which makes it more accessible than their earlier harder catalogue but its all high quality and I think it would appeal to both of you.
@volvulusx50432 жыл бұрын
Great song, I know you guys enjoyed it a lot but god damn the "i can't understand what theyre saying" thing is such a boring and tired complaint. is it really that hard to have the lyrics up in another window somewhere if that is such an important aspect to you? No hate, it's just mind boggling to me and I struggle to comprehend how things like this make it in to people's reactions.
