I get hip pain because I’m a really active runner and I tend to forget to stretch, but I recently started doing yoga and I did this today as well and felt a lot of relief.

Thank you so much, Doctor Jo! This helped relieve my hip pain literally the first time I did it. I've made it my goal to do these everyday and pair them with some hip strengthening exercises. That IT band stretch was revolutionary - I didn't even know you could stretch that area and yet it feels so good. Keep up the good work and thanks so much once again! :)

Dr. Jo - thank you so much for your videos! It is so empowering that I can learn how to help myself. I have seen spine surgeons, chiropractors, acupuncturists and physical therapists and they certainly tried (and often did) address the issue at hand. But other issues continue to come up. You have given your viewers the opportunity to address their own ailments ... and you do it in a kind, simple-to-follow way. You have really helped me and I am so grateful.

Thank you so much! I had a nasty pain in my hip due to a walk lasting 2.5 hours the day before, which was made worse by sleeping in an uncomfortable position, but it cleared up almost completely about an hour after doing these stretches, I can’t thank you enough!

your videos have actually been helping me:) i was having bad leg pain and hip pain and to my surprise, this really worked. normally you would search up for help and do random massages that end up not even working for me but these helped!! now i can sleep in peaceeeeeee

5 min on my floor with a pillow and a belt just drastically turned my night around-- I have had hip pains/aches for years now and I am tired of having to carry pain reliever around and I also generally dont want to have to rely on them for the rest of my life. I am going to start doing this every night and morning and see if my pain subdues. Thanks for the content.

I did the stretches and they gave me relief. I went to basic training and my hip got messed up and it got worst in AIT. And these stretches made me breathe relief for real. Been in pain daily. I take 650 mg of Tylenol daily. It’s probably a hip fracture or a strain

I play lot’s of sports and I think I strained my hip from playing. I’ve been doing all the recommended things like ice, rest, meds, etc. Whenever I’m running or just playing hard, it ends up hurting. Do you think these will help it, or injure it more? And will it help in the long term or just to relive it.

I have lower back and hip pain when trying to sleep Mostly due to stress and anxiety Mostly i cannot see much. As the subtitles in the way. Do you need to warm up before you do this?

It sounds like your closed captions got turned on. You can easily turn them off by clicking the "CC" button at the bottom of the video. Hi Doctor Jo I 8 weeks go i hurt my disc and had bad lower back pain. it has since recovered but now I am experiencing hip pain which hurts with the hip is hinged. it also feels more nerve pain then muscular and the stretches I do for my back such as glutes stretches seem to not help it. do you think my hip pain is related to my disc?

I know this isn’t a related video, but it would help a lot if you could tell me a stretch I could do to get rid of the pain in the tendons behind my knee. I over extended my knee and it’s been hurting for a few weeks and the stretches I’ve been doing have not helped. Also I am new to your channel, so if you already have a video relating to this that would be great to know.

Hello! Which video would you recommend for hip pain on one side from squats and HIIT? I do hip circles to help pop it gives some relief but comes right back.

I have a frustrating question Doctor!! So I have been struggling with osteoarthritis in my Ankle for 8 years now, at first I couldn’t do anything I was in severe pain 24/7, for the past few years the pain got easier and the past 1.5 year I started running which I couldn’t do before because it was impossible to attempt and I been working out recently, now here’s the question my ankle is not as stiff as before but it’s still not a 100% flexible so I’m struggling I squat “now can someone with osteoarthritis in the ankle possibly get the flexibility back with stretching even doe they have osteoarthritis or am I going to be stiff forever???

This video is great! Really feels like I'm getting the stretch where I need it! 2 questions, In the stretch at 4:24, I can bring my knees all the way to the ground and lean forward til my chest touches my feet with my back straight with ease/little stretch, could that point to the cause of the pain? 😅 Is it bad if my foot falls asleep during the stretch at 5:46?

Thanks! It's possible there is some ligament laxity that could be causing instability in the hip, but unfortunately, I really don't know since I can't evaluate you.

Hi Jo thank you from New Zealand. My right hip sits slightly forward from pregnancy 12 years ago which I never addressed. Would I use these exercises on my right side or left side? Thank you

@@AskDoctorJo thanks for your prompt response Dr Jo. Actually It is painful during upward movements. I didn't feel the need to consult doctor because pain occurs while exercising. My left shoulder is affected and the use is comparatively less.
