I can respect his decision to not dive too deep into acting. Thinking back to the story about how Em treated studio work like a 9-5, it makes sense. The man values his time and doesn't want to overwork himself. Glad he didn't get some of those roles, F&F, Training Day, don't think those movies would have took off the way they did with Em. 8 Mile is an All-Time Great movie, doesn't mean he needs to be a regular actor.

@Jared_Wignall3 жыл бұрын
Eminem actually does like 8 Mile, but isn’t really eager to be the lead of another film. He’s fine playing small parts and if a film came his way where the part he was offered was the lead and he wanted to do it, I’m sure he would as long as acting and him doing music was balanced out so things didn’t end up like they did with the shooting of 8 Mile where he got 4 hours of sleep every night, took pills to help him sleep which basically was the beginning of his drug addiction, having to record an album of his own while also have involvement on the films soundtrack and having to make sure his lines were memorized on top of everything else, yeah I can see the process not being so fun for him. While he may not have enjoyed the overall process of making the film, I’ve seen and read interviews where he’s very positive and has recounted great memories he has of the film, despite the aspects that weren’t so fun. Bottom line is, he does enjoy 8 Mile and isn’t against acting in films and shows, but music is his primary focus.
@seanhart97063 жыл бұрын
How do you know?
@Jared_Wignall2 жыл бұрын
@@seanhart9706 I know he doesn’t hate 8 Mile based on how he’s talked about the film over the years. Overall, he enjoys the film. He’s talked about how the process to make it wasn’t exactly fun for him due to having to shoot 16 hour days, the drive to and from the set was 2 hours each way and he slept for 4 hours every night until the film was complete. He was finishing up The Eminem Show album and had some songs he was writing for the films soundtrack while also producing the soundtrack as well. These things combined weren’t fun and he’s never tried to paint that part of the experience making 8 Mile as positive. All that lead to his addiction to sleep medication due to how small of a window he had to sleep. But for the most part, such as looking at interviews for the films 10th and 15th anniversary, he’s talked about good experiences such as working with the many talented people and how the director, Curtis Hanson, helped him when it came to acting and how he was able to get a good performance from him. The title of the video is misleading as it makes it sound as if he hates the film as a whole and he doesn’t. He likes it and likes certain aspects of the making of the film, but there were defiantly negative aspects to it and because of those experiences, he’s not exactly eager to be the lead in a film again. Maybe if the right project came around where he could also make a song or do the score to the film while the schedule wouldn’t conflict or merge much with an album he’s making then perhaps he’d make another film. But until then, he’s fine with having 8 Mile be his leading role in a film.

Also can we just say 8 MIle is basically the same movie as Purple Rain? Has anybody else noticed that?

You mean the CONCEPT is the same? Two iconic musicians starring in a SEMI-autobiographical motion pictures… fighting many demons (family, love life, abuse, etc) while on their way to achieving their dream. Yeah, it’s noticed. Lol 😂

You can be Childish Gambino too and turn from acting to rapping. Or should I say he can (Even tho I do enjoy Joe Pesci's rap how he is mafioso 😂 Legendary stuff right there). Dude is a beast, stand-up and writing as a whole included in the package, pretty sure directing also.

Not sure why you titled it that. He don't hate 8 Mile. You mean why he hates acting. That would've been a better title.

Em just doesn't wanna be bothered...he keeps to himself. And he only keeps doing promotion for his music bcos that's his number 1 passion, besides his kids..I'm sure if he had a billion dollars, he'd just release music straight to streaming with no promo and just stay home with his kids

I believe the scene with the horse represents him, the fact he’s a stallion that’s beautiful with so much power and potential, but he’s stuck in a junk yard. Idk for sure but that’s what I took from it and it fits really, in any position like that tbh.

I say give him what he wants warriors movie. I mean he is the king of hip-hop . So he deserves to pick what he wants on the big screen.

Good video I think that the title is a little misleading. Like Eminem doesn’t hate the movie itself it’s not like he’s ashamed of it

That's crazy that Eminem passed up on training day. That would have made his movie career!

Artist has it easier then regular movie stars when it comes to what roles they wanna play. If an artist doesn't want a role, they not missing out on money because they make music. But if an actor ignores a role then they are still jobless

The thing that's crazy to me is how eminem is probably one of the biggest celebrities on earth but there hasn't been a biopic about him there's been documentaries but none of them were eminem was in the only thing he has close is his book the way I am but if there ever was an eminem biopic it would demolish the box office
