@pbinnj32504 ай бұрын
@@DannyEastVillageI was inside before the second renovation. I even remember the below ground plaza before Apple. Huge improvement for the plaza. The Toys R Us store was also very cool. Not sure how Toys R Us could go out of business. Apple has demonstrated that a physical location can co exist with online retail. And the TRU was an experience by itself. It was a tourist attraction all by itself.

I used to live on LI and I always had a terrible experience at apple stores. The staff at the closest one to me always seemed to ignore me and never actually want to serve me. They also would make snid remakrs that made me feel small. One day I was in Manhattan and I had a bit of extra cash so I decided to buy my brother a macbook pro and final cut pro because he seriously wants to make movies (and also because he has always spent his extra cash buying me things). This store CLEARLY had way more customers than the one nesr me and yet the attitude of the staff was totally different. They were always friendly. I never felt belittled. I never felt ignored. I never felt rushed. It was such a pleasent shopping experience that I began going to the 5th ave store exclusively whenever I needed anything Mac related. I didn't care if it was way out of the way. The customer experience was worth it.
@mattlandry87425 жыл бұрын
melodramatic7904 probably because at the local one near you the majority of guests just go there and walk around rather than being real customers and it can actually annoy the staff to determine who’s really interest in products and who’s just walking around.

@lilshrum48175 жыл бұрын
Why
@rubix1875 жыл бұрын
lilshrum the customers they receive are generally from different countries around the world. With all the constant traffic and impatient tourists, you can imagine that they’re always trying to be as accommodating as they can.
@Thedeathdump5 жыл бұрын
How much more accommodating can they be? With a warranty I can’t see how it would be different from just going to any store that replaces phones under warranty
@rubix1875 жыл бұрын
Eric Flores it’s a matter of the amount of traffic that the store sees and resources on hand. Here’s an example. I go in and complain about my phone overheating and randomly shutting off. Technicians go to the back, run diagnostics and return to tell me they see nothing wrong. I stick to my story and show I’m visibly upset. A small Verizon store would likely tell me to come back if the problem persists. The larger Apple store would more likely give me a replacement on the spot. It’s all business. I urge you to try it for yourself.
@Nickgowans4 жыл бұрын
Don't you mean "this store is where your money goes" when you can't replace a simple component because apple make it impossible to repair your own devices and have to buy a whole new phone. Or this is where your money goes when a simple connector fails in your MacBook and the "experts" in store say they have to sell you a whole new motherboard but then you go 20 minute away and a guy in the basement repairs it for free because he's a decent human being and not a thief?

I´ve been there like 5 years ago with my aunt and i was about 12 at that point and didnt had any clue of what that is except for i knew that Logo and assumed that there is a store beneath it. my aunt said that it is probably just a parking lot down there and just an Ad by apple ;) . But that Store looks super nice and I would really like to visit it at some time. unfortunatly i live in germany and it isn´t a reason to fly to New York to look at a Store ;).

basically it was there for a very long time, apple came, drove the rents up in the surrounding area and FAO couldn't afford to stay in their historical store anymore and moved.

No that’s not there expensive because they use all metal design which is not easy to make and because they are assembled in china and there are a bunch of trade tariffs the U.S. put on China so there will be more jobs in the U.S. Samsung dosent have this problem they make almost everything fun Japan.

I only had one apple device, iPad Mini (1st gen). This is my only apple device. Now 2020, its still alive, prestine condition and works as fine. The build quality I must say is incomparable. No doubt. I simply don't have the luxury to buy any of the Apple products. Though I wan't them, my pocket won't. I got this iPad mini, as a consolation for being a Top Agent on the floor. back in 2013.

Guardian ehhhhh... kinda? There are a lot of variables, and while those things definitely don't help, they also don't make up a large chunk. That said, it's also not because Apple is profit crazy. Dispute what many people would have you believe, iPhones cost about $400 to make, and keep in mind that other $200 - $600 has to pay for wages and events and store maintenance and all sorts of stuff, as well as, of course, generate profit.
@RRD974 жыл бұрын
@@loganiushere So who is telling them to make stores and events?
@loganiushere4 жыл бұрын
Rituraj Das For events, publicity / marketing, and stores, I suppose you got me there. They build stores because that's how they sell their stuff, but they could easily do that online or through other people's stores.
