@@hlonni_chelsea6711 No more highking, please, but the real South Africans will never do that. Times are changing now at Mzansi people leave their country come into our country do whatever they want. That's bull shit right there. South Africans respect each other they will never pull-start like that. They also appreciate other countries wherever they go. They will never go to their country to kidnap their kids and mothers. I don't understand why these people don't respect South Africa. The slaying our youth with this Nyawupe thing and kidnapping the young girls. Now they try to seize the mother and her kids. That's shameful. The Zulu’s taxi drivers, or I can say South African taxi owners the whole are business people, and I don't think they will risk their permit for stupidity. All that kidnapping, drugs, looting, are the outsiders doing that try to put South Africa down because they fail to help their president to build their country. Instead, they runway from their country come to SA, and messed up our young children minds. I hate people who don't respect South Africa🇿🇦. I wish Ramaphosa could be more firm. Stop being a soft man; SA needs an adamant, strong 💪 President who doesn't care what people say as long he puts the country and South Africans first and make sure the women, young girls, young boys and children are protected.

This story hits home as this happened to me in 2004 when I was 13. I was all alone in the taxi when it happened. I also had to jump out of the taxi and pretend that I was dead for a few minutes. Then had to walk home in the dark just praying to God and hoping that I will make it safe.

Nope!we can't always wish for institutions that will exclude the poor. Even private hospitals are not needed. The only thing we need is government that knows what to do to protect its citizens.Police don't care about protecting the citizens. They are just there because they couldn't find other alternative jobs. They also lack thorough training. Some can't even run. Criminals can easily disarm the police. They are also afraid of criminals. It's so sad that anybody can just come to this country and commit such crimes, while the police and their minister are just watching. We have our own criminals but everyone from outside the country knows that in SA,you can do as you please and you will never be caught. Thanks to our government that keeps on failing us,and us keep on voting them in.

Opening a case of human trafficking is too much “paper work” according to the police as these type of cases are taken more seriously when compared theft cases. So it’s easier for them (police) to say it’s theft and just toss the case away. The police have really failed us hey.

I am trying to reconcile with how necessary it is to become a concealed weapons carrier, in SA. South Africa is a violent country with a failed police, health and prosecuting system. Second time it was Easter weekend, my flatmate who's also a friend and I hosted our collueges for the weekend so they wanted to explore the pta night life. I was honestly not in the mood but my flatmate insisted that we go her bf will drive us to Moloko around 23h, on arrival they changed their mind and said they're not staying so it's either they drop us at the flat or we'll über back home. Collueges obviously didn't wanna go home so we stayed behind. When it was time to leave we tried über and taxify but there were no drivers available, no meter taxi near the club I think because most people went home for Easter. Eventually some guy heard us stressing and offered us a lift. Sharp it was 6 of us, we got inside his A3 and drove off. As he was driving motho took a different direction and I asked where we going coz that's def not town, he just said he's taking a short cut. Hai next thing we approaching centurion, he then said we going to a party in midrand then he'll bring us back. We obviously declined but he kept driving. Next thing we in midrand and we asked him to drop us on the road bi he didn't stop. Passed garages and he still wouldn't stop. Next thing we approaching leeufontein, it was my first time there. The time is now 3am and we on the gravel road at that moment. He suddenly stopped ko some electric station to pee and it was very dark, no streetlights, no houses nex. Our phones were also off. That was our chance to escape, we ran in those dark bushes till we reached house and a complex. Got into the complex and found someone still up watching TV. There we are in our short dresses and heels, the guy obviously interrogated us before opening, it was 4 of us at that moment coz 2 of our friends took a different direction. He made coffee and let us charge our phones, tried calling our friends but their phones were off. Eventually they sent location, they were at some security gate. The guy who accommodated us went to fetch them with 2 of my friends.on arrival they told us the securities told them not to trust anyone in that area, not even the police coz they work with the traffickers and we were just lucky that we didn't go to the police. Apparently when you get to the police station they pretend to help you and take you straight to the kidnappers

SAPS in not helping!!i believe as a Police officer you have to be mindful and have Psychological mind to understand what is the main issue of people who are coming to report crime and stop following the so-called standard procedure because that is not the main case brought by victims...losing a phone is nothing compared to losing a life. And the nurses were supposed to help with councelling , checking heart rate , blood level to make sure everyone is healthy or depressed and give advises on how to overcome state of wellbeing.

You know what I've noticed with most of these traumatic stories on the podcast, especially things that happen to women? Is that the justice system and how the police and hospitals conduct themselves in general is just pure garbage. The stories are too similar but it's different women....I think that's what terrifies me the most. The fact that we (women) in this country are literally collateral damage no matter how you look at it.

Nothing will happen until we (women) fix it ourselves...we need to take our government to task...we need to say it's enough...we can't be prisoners and prey in our country for the rest of our lives and have our daughters go through the same nonsense...to what end? A country with an GBV endemic and the Department of Women, Youth and people with disabilities is not the busiest...I don't even know who heads it...but rest assured it gets a budget every year

You can feel the fear as she narrates the story. It is really dissapointing that the police didn't pay attention to their experience but thank God they managed to get away.

What pains me most about this story is the fact that there are people who are not so lucky on a daily basis & are living a nightmare because of such animals in our midst.

I still remember on 2 occasions. First 1 I was from mams on a Sunday, we filled up a taxi and off to town. When we got to the highway suddenly the taxi started having problems and the driver stopped, he then told us he'll call for a backup. Hardly 3 min 3 guys came out of nowhere wearing reflectors comin straight to our taxi, we thought they're coming to help. They had guns and ordered everyone to take out their bags and phones but surprisingly they never demanded money from the driver. Just after they fled another taxi came and took us to town. Thinking about it when I got home it clicked gore entlek it was a setup

I have realized that most of the guests that have stories involving our police officers are always not receiving solutions and they complain of the way they handle situations and cases. What is happening with our policing systems? This is very disappointing indeed

Guys, how do we fix our country?? How do we influence change in our police and health system. Systems that are meant to service this country's citizens. It cannot be that serious cases go unsolved. Do we now as victims have to pay bribes so we can get our cases solved??? Hhaai bo!! I'm listening to this and I am so traumatised. Zimbambweans and Mozambicans speak Zulu guys. Where would a Zulu from eDududu have taken them?? Think about it. If this girl didn't act, they would have been outside our boarders. We need change South Africans. We cannot keep hearing such horrific stories and then nothing. Hhhaai ngeke I am so hurt and tired shame. Theft??? Theft?? Kanjani when its so clear that this was abduction/ trafficking. Hhhaay no man.
