Hi, How do you make sure your driver doesn't steal the cam and keep all the revenue for them?
@BarryMann5 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing this extremely valuable information. (I am an expert in data and have been looking at the eBay market using terapeak, etc). There are a lot of units on there at kite flying prices.

Any full time Uber drivers on here using hivemapper?
@kevgits4 ай бұрын
Thanks. What's the average distance covered by your drivers per week? Are they mapping mostly urban or highway driving?
@Future_Networks4 ай бұрын
Unsure of exact average KMs driven, but I'd guess around 400-600kms, both in urban and rural areas across the UK.

I found that I live in the suburbs of a high weight area (Philadelphia) so I thought that with the heavy weight and lots of unmapped areas in these rural outskirts I would make more than the average. That didn’t work, 200+ miles per week with about 70% of the mileage previously never mapped, it didn’t cover the fuel cost.
@AroundTheBlockGaming4 ай бұрын
Average 25m/gal of fuel for 200 miles is 8gal at about $3.50/gal =$28. I received $23 in honey.
@Future_Networks4 ай бұрын
Fair observation, but why would you expect it to cover fuel cost? The idea isn’t to go map for the sake of mapping, but to drive as you would normally for a bit of extra income. Team has been very clear about that….
@AroundTheBlockGaming4 ай бұрын
@@Future_Networks I get that. I see a lot of people asking is it profitable. I just wanted to show that calculation from my driving. I decided to find out, is it better for me to leave for work early and drive some different routes, or detour for unmapped roads along the way, and my answer was no.

Unfortunately not, we have none in India and don’t know of anyone who does, sorry.

Do they drive in very saturated areas/big cities?

some yes. All in the UK. Most big cities are well covered, but many are in / also drive in rural areas. So a bit of a mix to be honest.

It wouldn’t be so bad that the value of the coin has dropped if it wasn’t simultaneously awarding far less of the coin on top of it! Double screwed! But I’ve paid the device off many times over at this point (1.5 yrs) so I can’t really complain. Anything is profit and I’m thankful. Just not exciting anymore. Used to be like having g a cheat code for extra money enabled or something. I also drive about 800-1000 miles a week
@Future_Networks5 ай бұрын
Yeah I get you, I can see why they are limiting tokens now though if it’s the bee that will actually generate a usable product. Also, any ‘cheat code for free money’ is bound to be short lived and unsustainable!😅

@@Future_Networks true true. I miss the hot streak though. When things were good I was telling people about Hivemapper like it was a new religion but the excitement has faded now. Sometimes I don’t even bother checking the mount alignment when I go on a trip at this point. Driving 1000 miles used to make me 3-500 but now it’s maybe 50. Ah well
@bobbyamos20985 ай бұрын
Facts! It's just not as exciting anymore. However, I did 40x the value of the camera off of it so I can't complain. I'm just holding now, market cap is low, I think we could easily get to a couple billion in mc in Q1 of next year due to the value of the project, and the bull market of course

Very sad. There were times not too long ago, but I made thousand dollars a week. Wonder be like later this cycle. Right now I make about $60 a week I drive about 1000 miles a week I have been swapping my tokens out of honey into other SOL ecosystem tokens. Glad I did much better returns and future returns especially the way they have diluted our earnings.

@@Future_Networksyeah, I dunno. If I can make 20-30$/week on a 500$ expense that’s a 5 month roi. Even if it’s half that, a 10 month roi and successive future profits beyond that seems like a no brainer.

It was always going to end up being marginal. However, fundamentals matter. Is the end product (mapping datae) worth something to somebody to the extent that they would pay for it. For streetview data, yes it is and it has worth. Ditto fry networks - satellite data is valable, noise data not so much. I believe in Helium Mobile too.

@@MexicaHODL how long is your mindset is the question I guess. If we were having this conversation 12 months ago you probably would have also said "This is. trash project now/".....and you would have missed out on huge gains. What are your thoughts on NATIX network?
@Future_Networks4 ай бұрын
I've spoken with Alireza who seems super credible. To be honest, when we were assessing Natix, we were doing so through a fleet deployer lens and decided it didn't make sense. We've not done a deep dive in a while, but if we do we can publish something on it here.
