Hoarders ❤️ My Simple Control Journal | How I Use The FLYLADY SYSTEM | Morning Routines

I’m soooo excited for this video because I finally feel organized!!! I created a Flylady Control Journal!!! I knew with all the craziness of working, homeschooling, and creating KZbin videos: my home cleaning would be last on the list!! I had to do something to keep my 2020 resolution of maintaining my rooms! So I decided to create a simple control journal to help me each day! This is a starter one where we can add to it as we create these new habits & routines!! I hope this helps you create your own Flylady Control Journals too!!

The Secret Slob makes the Flylady system so much easier to understand. I love what the "fly" part means... Finally Loving Yourself. Us moms forgets about that a lot of the time because kids take up so much time.

That journal is as sparkly as your personality! Having a checklist like that should be very helpful for your ADHD. Regarding laundry you might want to add fold/hang and put away so you don't end up with a high stack of clean clothes that topple over. I went thru a phase where the clean laundry was always in baskets and never made it back to the closet before being worn again. :D

A bit off topic, but you know how people ask you to figure out which clutter bug you are? I think you should figure out one for your hubby too, and learn each other’s organizing style. Cass says most of the time, kids are ladybugs(non visual, big category). For example, you wouldn’t ask your boys to sort plushies into super detailed categories like, animals, characters, hero’s, and expect them to be on specific places on the shelf. You would rather just have a basket for all the plushies. Right? I hope everyone in your family to have easy time finding things, and putting things away😉

I'm finally getting some things de-cluttered around our house. I have several chronic illnesses, that have pretty much laid me out. A few years ago, when we were still seeking diagnoses, and I was getting worse, I talked to my husband about it, because it was too much for me to be able to keep up with. At that time he said no. He grew up a bit financially insecure, and has pack rat tendencies, and when he was laid off 5 or so years ago it was really hard on him, because he saw that any item out of the house was an item that would never be there again. Fast forward to now, and my husband has finally looked around and said we have too much stuff, and has given me free reign over common areas of the house. Even though I've not really felt any better than normal, the excitement of possibly de-cluttering enough for me to be able to keep up with has had me doing a little bit every day. Nowhere near done with my first area, but starting to see progress!

I am excited for you!! Even if your home does not undergo a magical overnight transformation, that change of accomplishing a step in the right direction can very much be transformative, and the vision of what you are working toward gives something to look forward to, and that is very important when dealing with chronic illness and the mental/emotional strain they create. Adding you and your husband to my prayer list today

You are doing great! Look at you, so full of exitement. Those routines seem like they would fit you well :) You accually inspired me to start my own morning and night routines. I think a said this before but you make things just look so easy and doable. So thank you for that :) I've restructured and added and got rid of things a lot untill i felt like it worked for me and not against me. I hope that it gives me somekind of framworke, since uni is mainly remote now. Last semester i just lost track of everything and it was a mess. So i am hoping that this will help keep me on track. So far so good :) Maybe two ideas to think about that helped me: 1) i structured my routines around rooms. So like in the morning it would be: everything to be done in the bathroom, everthing in my room, everything in the kitchen. Bc i tended to forget things and then walk back and forth between rooms alot and now can i feel like "this room is comleted and i dont need to go there again". Idk if that applies to you but i thought i'd share. 2) i try to take stock of things at the end of the day. For me that mainly is schoolwork, so things that are not completed or not put away and i try to notice things that went really well. And then if there is an issue that i can fix it in 2 min, do it then, and if not, i write it down so i can make time to do it. But for you it could also be looking at each room and noticing how you are doing with the upkeep. So mabye it helps appreciate the fact that most of your rooms are looking very good now :) and might help notice patterns of how things get unorderly if they do.
