The control journal has changed drastically how everything works around here. And when we fell off the wagon is always easy to go back. I also added my inventories lists.

I have been trying to implement this system for a while but I never quite understood it until I found your podcast. You explained it so simple and now I'm excited to finally get it rolling! Thank you.

Hi Sarah, I have been watching your videos since you emigrated to Germany. I am happy about every new video. Today I was browsing your old videos and came across this one. Thanks for showing us your folder in such detail. Last year I started to get involved with Flylady. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get started permanently . Your video motivates me to give it another try. I wish you and your family a wonderful time. 🤗 I hope the text does not contain too many mistakes. I used a translatian App 🙈

I loved your enthusiasm in this video! I am just working on a home management binder, or control journal, as FlyLady calls it. I have known about FlyLady and worked with her routines for a long time, but the past few years I have fallen off the fly wagon, lol. I am now widowed with an adult daughter living at home, and I need all the help I can get in managing my home. Your enthusiasm is catching, and I love to hear what you had to say about it. Thank you for making this video, I hope all is well with you.

I'm still making my way through your videos and we actually had a binder like this at my old workplace (a vet clinic) to make sure we clean everything consistently (all the areas like the operating utensils and stuff would obviously get deep cleaned all the time, but the office utensils/ random clutter drawer in the front desk? not so much lol). And it worked so well! I really don't know why I never started using this system for my home. It was mainly because we worked in shifts and to keep everyone updated to what had just been cleaned and to avoid 3 people dusting on top of the shelves while nobody had dusted behind the heaters or whatever, but it really is just great to keep an overview of what needs to be done and takes the thinking out of the process. If I have 20 minutes and start thinking where to start cleaning, then I have most likely already wasted like 10 minutes haha

Yes exactly! You got it. It helps so that you don’t have to mentally keep track of everything.

Thank you so much for this video! You laid this out so nicely that I think I can accomplish this! I have been trying to do the flylady system off and on since I lost my husband in September but I make a huge amount of lists and then they seem to get misplaced and I get overwhelmed again! Thank you

Actually Marla took from the Sidetracked House Excutives with their blessing I believe. Its a book published in the 70s or 80s I think by two sisters. Marla streamlined/updated their method. I used the Sidetracked method for years. I fell out after the kids left the nest. Soooo have to get back to the system. BTW...There is an AWESOME new app by the FLYLADY. FlyLadyPlus is the app.. LOVE, LOVE THE FALL BUCKET LIST!

I can think of a lot more to do in each area: dust ceilings, walls, tidy drawers in bedrooms and offices. You don't have those extra things listed in your Zone cleaning area. How do you handle the extra stuff? Mine is so long that it becomes overwhelming!
@MyMerryMessyGermanLife2 жыл бұрын
Those things are in the zone cleaning sections. Well, the dusting corners and ceilings part. I personally tidy drawers only when needed, which isn’t often for me. 😊

I'm so trying this. Thank you! I swear I have ADHD but I don't medicate. It's hard for me to stay on routine and focus and just get started. I procrastinate and put things off that are "too much" or "too hard". Do you still offer the free printables for this binder? Thanks again for sharing!

I think I might also have ADHD! So this program really helped me to keep my house cleaner without the stress.

I just heard about this and ran across your video but I'm sorry I'm a little dense. Do we do the first three pages every day? So there's a list to do everyday morning noon and night and then there's a focus area and then there is a zone? And how much time do we spend on each?
@MyMerryMessyGermanLife3 жыл бұрын
Well that all depends on your schedule. If you work full time outside of the home, then you would focus on just the morning and evening routines, and try and get a few extra things done each day if you can and if you have the energy. Otherwise, you’d do your weekly home blessing hour one of those days or on the weekend. As for the zone cleaning, you do 15 minutes a day cleaning in one zone.
