I exclusively play kill team and played in a few tournaments. I can't wrap my head around how often these rule arguments about basic rules pop up. In Kill Team you can so easily play with intent so your opponent is aware that a model moved in a way to set up a non reciprocal shot or charge, etc. Kill team still has issues (mainly the awful wording) but in the 1 ½ years I've played it I've only had positive experiences.

The vehicles in ruins debate was an early 10th thing stemming from a bad read of terrain rules. It was pretty quickly ruled by GW that vehicles can enter the footprint of ruins but not move through the physical terrain like infantry and beasts can. The competitive subreddit was largely in favor of vehicles entering terrain and regarded the opposite position as a massive angleshoot.

Grey Knights would join as Blackshields or whatever they call the anonymous dudes. They would do so because there are plenty of Xenos who dabble in warpcraft. "The Avatar of Kaine is pretty much a daemon when you think about it" ~ Daemonhunters codex. P.S. Vehicles need to bring back the Walker key word. Sentinels, Dreads, and the Traich Stalker in particular need this.

That last story is another reason I'm done with tournaments. Too many rules as written lawyers ruining a game just to get their petty W. Most casual games would let the charge be just for the spirit of the game.

GOOD NEWS BROTHERS! I am working again. I just did my first shift in retail security. Thank you for your support! I am working with people again after being paid to do what I want for 10 hours but I was alone at night (it was night shifts I'm really tired while I type this). The infantry keyword allows you to move through ruins I know that for sure not sure of vehicles are allowed to go inside of ruins if they can fit.

In my case I’ve got 8000 points of Orks at time of writing. If someone broke all my models I have to be honest in that I’d be devastated and definitely angry… buuuuut if it was a genuine accident I can forgive the person in question very easily especially if the person/people responsible were apologetic about the ordeal. That being said; If they were roughhousing, being careless, and/or broke it on purpose then I cannot even fathom the rage I would display because it be only ever been THAT mad once. I’ve been considering sending that story in an email, it’s not from while I was in the hobby but it was the thing that gave me the push I needed to seek it out

A way around the grey knights lore and its a bit of a stretch, is for the grey knights to investigate the deathwatch due to signs of corruption and say there being sent from a little known successor chapter. This way they could also turn on the chapter and adds a new dynamic.

On the metabolism thing, at around 25 your body shuts down the parts that promote growth, this is why people tend to have this be the age their personality hard codes itself but another result is that your suddenly burning less energy doing the same level of activity which is why sudden weight gain is common.

As for the Knights being able to move into ruins: yes? They can move there, they just don't receive the bonus of being inside the ruins, otherwise it allows for these nonsensical rules where "oh your knight has it's toe inside the ruins? That's illegal" if the model fits it's legal

Saying about corrupting grey knights what is it with writers doing this? You'll have a character or faction like the knights or the sisters who do not fall to chaos, having extinct clans and tribes turn up in world of darkness games etc. So many out there want to make one to be different but they don't do anything with it.

I would have the reaction like was said in a previous hobby nightmare that well they came in multiple pieces so if they end up in that state again guess I get more practice. But I also have small children who I allow to play with the models in hopes of having grots interested in the hobby later so I'm more forgiving on honest accidents but like north said if this wasn't an accident and it was predictable. Well I get mad at my kids for that. To a complete stranger it would be worse

I have encountered organizers like that several times. Legit take that same approach with following to the letter of the rules, but also demand they provide the exact text for the rule. Had one organizer legit make up rules to be nepotistic for their friend.

When it comes to my models I'm very protective of them but if it's a complete accident I'd understand it but still be disappointed. As for deathwatch lore each marine is sworn to secrecy by the deathwatch as to every action they participated in during their watch under threat of severe punishment to both the marine and their parent chapter

I’m 100% a narrative player, and I don’t actually know if the rule was in violation of the ruins. It doesn’t matter. You should follow the rules or what are we even doing here. I’m relatively new but the disdain from narrative players against “competitive” players is really off putting. The narrative players love to say”no thanks I’ll find another game”, which is the right answer, but it’s said as if the competitive player is in some breach of a code of ethics. These are people trying to enjoy their hobby in the way they prefer. Not good to say “play either your toy soldiers”. Really belittling.

Vehicles can move into Ruins and their footprint, Infantry and Beasts can specifically move through "walls, floors, ceilings, gantries, chains, etc." AS IF THEY WERE NOT THERE, per the Core Rules. The rules commentary does in fact use an illustration of a Predator I believe in Ruins to demonstrate within/wholly within/etc. Also, Movement Phase rules under 1. Move Units states you may pivot or change facing during a model's move. On top of that, you just have to end your move wholly within your maximum movement.

The whole ruin vs vehicles doesn't sounds right, cuz in the rules commentary regarding ruins and visibility of vehicles the pictures clearly shown a space marine tank moving into the the terrain

If be totally okay with my models being wrecked on accident, I can glue em no problem. However since hes a Tau player, he doesnt get a pass and must meet us all in the parking lot out back
