Agree 👍🏼 And for me at 215lbs with injuries and needing more easy mileage this has been the best I've tried. Too soft isn't ideal for someone my size and it has the right amount of firmness and bounce. Might be my favorite shoe ever. I get why some might not like it but for someone like me worth a try for sure! ❤
@persistentconsistency4 ай бұрын
I am 100% with you brotha! Perfect amount of compliance and stability/firmness without being squishy or harsh. They hit it on the money! I'm 213 myself, so it is super reassuring to see someone my size who feels as strongly about the shoe as I do. Trying my best to find a second shoe to alternate on easy days, but may end up just rocking the Skyward for all easy days, which are all of my days except one tempo or longer run per week. Let me know if you found an alternate! I loved the Neo Vista, but it is super soft and a recent DOR 100-mile review found that the responsiveness disappeared although the softness remained.

Just a warning for the wide footers (and huge mistake cause I threw away the box so I can’t return them…). The shoe itself isn’t the most narrow shoe, but the mid foot isn’t optimal for people with wide feet. I also supinate and have ran 15 miles in it in 3 separate runs and the first run was gnarly. The outer part of my foot would roll over the outside of the shoe and step on the midsole. This made the outside of my feet hurt for a few days. There’s also a constant pain in the mid foot in the first mile or so in the 3 runs I did do in these.
@BroccLeeAV8 ай бұрын
Is it wider than other Hoka shoes? Others I've tried are way too narrow. Speedgoat 5 had a narrow hot spot in the midfoot and always loosened but was a roomier shoe from Hoka for me.

Hi! I'm 10 weeks out from an Ironman and have a dilemma. I've been running in Bondis for 9 years and my most recent pair of Bondi 8s started breaking down medial midsole after 40km. Feeling a change in my mechanics now. I am considering the Skyward or Gaviota (terrified of changing models!) as I need some stability and plush feel for bunions and a neuroma. Which would you recommend? Does the length run true? Thanks!

This was awesome. So 200 mile is around 320km. Most of my shoes only last 350 to 400km. Shoes like the the clifton, kinvara, the more v4 etc, due to wear or due to the foam just loosing its cushioning properties. We need a dollar per meterage to see what the real dollar value would be. I have the rebel v4 at 200km at present, I know it will make 400km, at around $200 AUS retail that's 50 cents per km, thats good value.

Just 350 to 400km for the More V4? I have more than 2 times that distance and they are still fine with a lot of cush and bounce 😅 I'm sure i use them up to 1200km and than take the 5's. But i also use all my shoes at least 700km.

I walk 6 to 9 miles a day, and I've been trying so many shoes, and none of them have been able to last very long. You take a look at the rubber of practically every running shoe on the market, and one thing comes to mind: DESIGNED OBSOLESCENCE! Case in point, two pairs of Asics, the Nimbus and the Excite. The Nimbus was down tot he foam in in less than 300 miles, and the Excite lasted 175 miles! Yet here we have my old La Sportiva Crossovers with 1,800 miles on them!!!
@Nivek_Fartswamy2 ай бұрын
Walking is actually more abrasive on an outsole than the motion of running. The Nimbus has soft rubber by design. Most shoes in the neutral max cushion category have soft rubber outsoles to enhance the cushioning feel of the shoe and smooth out the transition. But this comes at the expense of durability. That's just how it is. I will say that HOKA has made huge strides in outsole durability over the past few years. They were the absolute worst in durability. Now? HOKA is arguably above average in this department. For walking, Brooks probably has the best outsoles.
