Thank you Becky, the Irodori seasons are winging their way to me as I write and I've been watching your videos to help give me some inspiration. I love how you firstly swatch them then do some painting with those same colours. I've not used gouache before but as I struggle with watercolour, I think I'm going to find gouache more suited to my needs (easier!). X
@BeckyTregear8 ай бұрын
I hope you love them! I personally like to keep the gouache paints wet so I squeeze from the tubes as needed. It's easier to get a thicker layer of paint that way, and make them more opaque. Too much water will make them behave like watercolours. 😊

I really love your voice! You sound so friendly and full of energy. I think I would prefer the summer set. Not only because of the black and white, but it seems to me like the other colors are more versatile too. I'm looking forward to see your videos about the other sets! Thank you for sharing! :-)

What a cute squirrel! Though it’s a different type, seeing the painting reminded me of my family’s outdoor ‘pet’ squirrel, Dark Shadow. She’s an Eastern Grey with a black pelt and has even sat on our couch a few times when we fed her. Her spring and autumn litters are also a treat to watch! (Though, some of her kids are brighter than others…)

The colors are really nice in this set. It's nice that each set's colors don't overlap incase you do buy all of them. I love the added stickers to the last page. Whenever I see people do these kind of background with their leftover paint it always comes out interesting. Then I try it and I'm left with a multi brown color page...yay lol
@BeckyTregear2 жыл бұрын
It is definitely one of those situations where it is inevitable to end up with all the sets to have the biggest range of colours, haha! Mud is so easy to make when painting the leftover paint onto a page. I try to keep colours together that will mix nicely....doesn't always work of course but there are at least areas of nice colours in amongst the messy bits. 😂

Oh my, I went and compared Oto Kano's video to yours and her Indigo swatch is much darker! It must be one that's very affected by paper. It looks like you're swatching on... dot paper here? PS: I'm so grateful you included the pigment info here, it's very difficult to find otherwise!
@BeckyTregear2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes different papers can affect the colours of paints quite a lot. This is a cellulose watercolour paper with a dot grid on it. Thankfully the tubes had the pigment numbers on them. 😄

Kind of surprised Australia doesn't have squirrels because it seems like they're everywhere! Is there a marsupial equivalent? Check out the ones in India sometime--there's one that is really wildly colored!

Hello Becky. Love your video. Loved all 3 art pages. ..... I have a question. Do you leave your guache in the tubes and use fresh as you go? KAREN From Canada
@BeckyTregear2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I prefer to keep the gouache wet and use it as I go from the tubes. It tends to crack easily when dry, much more than watercolours, so I don't put them in half pans. I mean, you can because they will reactivate but also it is harder to get them thicker and opaque when rewetting the paints from dry.
@AlexisCassandraArt2 жыл бұрын
The autumn set is gorgeous! I prefer the colors that come with this set I think. It just seemed easier to use these colors, although the two yellows side by side looked quite similar.
