Probably because that was the 1st season of clone wars which was one of the first things they watched and in terms of quality was probably the worst thing they watched. Even if those few episodes were pretty good.

3:17 that's what I love most about The Bad Batch. Is that we get an updated Clone Wars' style animation whilst revisiting planets we've seen entrenched in war years ago: Ryloth, Raxis, etc. 15:00 Gobi is not actually Hera's uncle. Gobi and Numa were freedom fighters on Ryloth that were a part of Cham Syndulla's (Hera's father) resistance cell, so naturally they are very close with the Syndulla family. He's not her uncle, more so he's a very close family friend so they call him uncle. 17:40 You've met Cham Syndulla several times in the past. He's appeared in a few episodes of The Clone Wars and in Rebels. The only time Hera's mother appears in all of Star Wars is here in The Bad Batch. In Rebels, you only see her in the family portrait when Hera infiltrates her home to recover the Kalikori.

Chopper still looks beat up because Hera's family pulled him from a fighter that crashed in their garden and fixed him during the clone wars. They mention it in Rebels when they go to Hera's house and Chopper gets agitated seeing the crashed ship still there.

I do like the detail that Echo isn't quite comfortable working with Separatists. It makes sense given that he spent a year as their captive in Clone Wars.

So fun fact the Senator for Raxus is voiced by Alexander Sidig, who has numerous credits over the years including playing the ruler of Dorne in the Game of Thrones series he is also best known as Dr Julian Bashir in Star Trek Deep Space Nine( which is rather ironic when you consider the fact that every clone is voiced By Dee Bradley Baker who is also in Star Trek. When the Hera episode first came out there were so many of us that were saying that we were going to Riot if anything happened to Howzer. I love that we've now seen 2 Rebels protagonists in this series as children. Also you gotta love that even in the 1st year of the Empire, Chop is STILL the surly bastard we love

The Cone things on Haras head are the Female Ear organs. She had them in Rebles but they were under the headphones as you pointed out. Cham Syndulla was in both Clone Wars and Rebels. Twi'leks have a French accent because 1) they were modeled after the WWII French Resistance. 2) the first one that spoke was Aayla Secura played by Jennifer Hal. She was French-Canadian central Labrador Province.

Chopper was a battle droid during the Clone Wars. He was damaged and Hera fixed him. That's why we see him already tarnished.

How the hell did you guys forget we’re chopper came from? Remember during the clone war he was a Astromech Droid on a Y-wing. His ship got shot down and Hera a dragged him out of it and fixed him. He’s always been weathered and broken. You see his fighter in this and the Rebels season 4 episode “Hera’s Heroes”. In the season 3 premier, Chopper has PTSD and refused to get back into a Y-Wing.

The batch coming to the rescue of a former separatist senator is all about how war dehumanises the enemy, and how we should not continue to do so afterwards, especially if both sides unite. The prejudice is a festering wound that needs to be healed, not opened even more.

Cham Syndulla is basically the Ho Chi Minh of the Twi'lek people. The Empire needs him neutralized and his forces disarmed/disbanded if they intend to plunder Ryloth. These few episodes are about the Empire eliminating the established government and forces of the worlds directly involved with The Clone Wars. Occupied Territory in the case of Raxus and ex-battlefields like Ryloth. Of course Chopper looks terrible. He is basically wreckage. What is left of his Y-Wing is still rusting outside of Hera's old house and the C-Series Astromechs were not State-Of-The-Art when The Clone Wars began. He's obsolete.

I hate when Filoni keeps circling back to his other shows. Bad Batch would be do much better without dragging in Rebels like this, just like I hate how every other show drags Ahsoka in. It shrinks the world. The Kanen cameo in the first was fine, but episodes like this REALLY annoy me.
