Monday marks 75 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, the largest Nazi death camp. Around 200 Holocaust survivors are expected to be honored guests at a place where they were once sent to die. Mark Phillips spoke with a 91-year-old survivor who hasn't talked about what happened to him in the camp until now.

My grandpa was alive at that time and he is still alive now. He lives in Dublin, Ireland. He is not Polish but he has heart about all of this and he remembers some part. Both my grandparents where alive at that time. My grandfather fought against the Soviet Russians in WW2 in the winter war and continuation war in Finland. During the war nobody knew of it. But after the war and more facts were being released they were absolutely horrified as to what had taken place. As Finland was military allied with Germany. The Germans however burnt down parts of Lapland (North Regions) on their way out.

It does not always last forever, and you also forget the part where they can have learned to coop with it, and found meaning to their life, and make it a strength, rather than a weakness. Especially in these days, there's plenty of knowledge about it, and many forms of treatments for it. Don't spread the negative sht only, balance it by also saying the positive side of it, thanks.

To pay tribute as the ashes where dumped in that river/pond. Its horrible to think of all the things that happened in there and what they went through. We have to be thankful to those survivors and the stories they tell, as when they pass, it will be up to us to remind future generations of what happened. I am yet to visit here, however I wish to do so. Its to see a part of history that should never of happened and to pay tribute.

In the future there won't be any survivers of the camp left to talk about it. At my school in 2012 we had a visit of a old lady who survived the camp and told the entire school about her story. I still remember some of it. It was very tragic but very interesting to hear it from someone in real life. Not in Palestine, it's not. No one's being herded into camps and systematically murdered for one's religion, or for being a member of an ethnic group. Israel is a multi-ethnic state with a democratic gov't. Arabs have representatives in the Knesset, and comprise about 20% of the population. Meanwhile, Hamas hasn't allowed a vote in 15 years.

Very true. It's just a shame that alot of the people of the world can't come to terms with the fact we are all different and accept that fact and get on with living their lives as peacefully and happily as they can.

@White Vril you sound very ignorant. Israel is the only country in the entire middle east, that the Christian population isn't being persecuted, that is growing, and flourishing. They do not only practice freely, given equal rights, but their sites are protected. They are also given free Christmas trees by the government. A poll amongst Israeli Christian shows 97% satisfaction with the Israelis and the government. And stated they have it best from all other Christians in the middle east. I suggest you do some research into the amount of help Christians recieved from Israel including the IDF trying to flee from Islamic persecution (Lebanon, Syria, etc). EDUCATE YOURSELF!

@Blanca J. Christ... what about them? They haven't been burnt, gassed, experimented on, etc. In 48 they refused to declare a state, as they preferred to initiate a war against Israel. Then refused peace, and continued to attack Israel. Btw they keep losing. I don't see you crying about how Egypt, Jordan, etc treat them. Not to mention how none of you cry how before 47 (only 1 year before Israel became a state), did Jordan "steal" the largest area of "Palestine". You're a HYPOCRITE. And obviously an anti semite, if after watching this, your reaction is what about Palestinians?

When you know the living God some people want to feel you out for this relationship I guess you cannot run away from such people and you have to set them the example they find difficult to believe. When you have life or eternal life in you You have to give the example and I dont think it will be a pleasant experience.I cannot let the sufferings of my Jewish bros and sisters go in vain.I hope I can love and overcome hate and show the world the truth and Glory of loving as God loves all HIS children. And prove the same.
