When I was a child my aunt helped us collect beautiful fall leaves. We pressed them as you did and then we used two sheets of waxed paper and got out the iron and ironing board and on a gentle heat after placing the leaves between the two sheets of waxed papers, we ironed over the top sheet and thereby waxed the leaves and then they last even longer because they are waxed. We used to have to mount them on Bristol board and carefully print the name of the tree each leaf came from. That was a school project in the early grades of elementary school. Some children today cannot identify trees by their leaves. I really enjoyed your Thanksgiving projects and I hope you and your family have a safe happy holiday!!

Hi Linda. I am new to your channel and I love it! I grew up in the Hudson Valley area of New York. I now live in West Tennessee, Watching your videos takes me back home for awhile. I miss it very much. I now have an old house on 5 acres, My husband of 43 years passed away 9 years ago so I won't be moving again. We loved working on our old homes. Thank you for being here

I love the way you think of your home in a historical sense with decorating. I’m sure there were women who thought of exactly what you said. They used what they had in abundance to decorate their homes for holidays. I love the historical architecture of New England. I love the history. I can’t wait to try this type of a project, never would have thought of using corn husks in that way. Thank you for teaching me new things that excite and inspire me. Guess this old gal likes to learn new things! Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving, I know you can make it fabulous however you and your husband and family celebrate. My family will FaceTime.

I'm in love with the corn husk garland! My mother grew up in rural NC in the 1930s-40s. She told me about using natural items for decor and also for useful items, such as sandals made from braided corn husks that had been soaked and dried. I'll try to remember to make the corn husk garland next year as a special homage to my mom. Thank you for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much for Sharing your creativity and ingenuity it is greatly appreciate it. It is so refreshing to see your craft projects and learn. Unfortunately so many craft projects on KZbin begin with a haul from Hobby Lobby and Home Goods...nice to see how real creativity begins with a walk in the neighborhood.

Hi Linda , I want to thank you for sharing these charming and fun crafts . I made the tree from an old art book with lamanted paper and topped it with a porcelain rose . I am on the hunt for a book with musical notes and off to my Son’s Log cabin this weekend to gather pinecones . A double Fun time . I am so excited to try these and can’t thank you enough for your creative inspiration .

Love both the garland and the leaf projects. I tend to be drawn to natural things like that.
