They did a great cover of one of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs. Bastien's voice was perfect for the lead. Everyone sounded awesome in the background vocals, with Tim's bass & Adam's vocal percussion. Looking forward to more of the new songs with the newest member.

I refuse to compare..... afterall it is "HOMEFREE" They are amazing!!!! I am all in with HOMEFREE!!! Sound great and not missing a beat.......... I learned that several years ago as others made changes in their careers and HOMEFREE did not suffer any dropoff and the changes became natural and I simply enjoy this group, they have been my number one group I listen to by a landslide of nearly 90% of all I listen too. I think they have already decided that they are Adam, Chance, and Bastien. That way we can keep them apart. I love his voice. It is definitely different from Austin, but I think I can grow to love it too. He is bringing such a fun "bluesy" sound to Home Free...I love it. They sound great together... no surprise since they knew each other before, but still, nice

This is very faithful to both the original and Bonnie Raitt's hit version. This is stealth Canadian content because it was written by Canadian country-folk singer-songwriter Shirley Eikhard. But as another commenter wrote, Bonnie's guitar made it into a hit for her. These guys need more airplay.

Adam Bastien isn't exactly new, it's more like he's back. He sang with Home Free in their early days, before Austin.

Bastien was part of the touring Home Free when the HF we know was on The Sing-Off. He later joined Chris Rupp for the group 7th Ave along with Kristin Rupp (sister) and Kelley Jakle. He also went under the name Adam Bell-Bastien for OneUp, aka OneUpDuo with his husband Jerome Bell-Bastien. So he's been part of the Home Free family for a long time.

In this song 3rd time listening, I think Adam B is a perfect fit! Someone in comments said he has been around home free for a while, maybe before sing-off but I listened closely to him blending with the guys! I feel like that is a good fit as well! The Adams go all by their last names now (though Chance's is actually his middle name but he uses as a professional last name). Though, when you mentioned that you'll just use their full names I cracked up, because you always use Tim's full name. According to Rob's comment on their video the song was actually suggested by Bastien. It was certainly the right choice as an introduction song. I loved Bastien's lead, Tim's bass and Rupp's beatboxing in this one the most, but Rob and Chance were perfect on the backing vocals, too, of course. Thanks for the reaction and great analysis.

Great reaction, fun to watch! I was privileged to see Bastien along with Jerome and a full band of great musicians just last week (Aug. 7, 2024) at a concert in Michigan, totally separate from his new Home Free gig. I know firsthand that he has the power and smoothness in his voice to fit right in with Home Free. He also has high energy, dancing abilities, and a joyful vibe that is going to win over fans the more they see of him. Adam Rupp is the last original member, so he gets to use his first name. Adam Chance Ray doesn't use his last name professionally, and Home Fries generally refer to him as "Chance." Adam Bell-Bastien is simply "Bastien."

Jen, you are too young to remember Bonnie Rait's version of this. It was one of my absolute favorites back in the late 80's. You should look her up. I bet Rob doesn't have ro work quite as hard to match Bastein's tone. They are both a little more airy than Austin"s super bright forward tone. Both sounds are great, just a little different. I'm loving the new sound!

This is really so awesome! A great entrance for Bastien, but as if he had always been part of Home Free. The Home Free sound is just there. Especially if you listen to it with your headphones. Because even though the lead, harmonies, bass and beatboxing are so great, you still hear/recognize every member sound/voice in this song. The video is also fun, as if Home Free is in my living room where people are singing and laughing.

As always, GREAT reaction, Jen...!! I have to be honest, I think AB is a very good fit for Home Free...BUT, it's going to take me a while to get used to it. Austin Brown is irreplaceable...and I know that AB is not trying to "replace" him, he's simply the new voice (and a very good one, I'll say again). It's not that I don't like having AB in Home Free...it's that I am still trying to come to grips with NOT having Austin in it anymore. He is a one-of-a-kind talent!! They're still my number one group to listen to, and I don't see that changing...but, I had to get that out anyway. Keep up the great work, Jen...always love your reactions and thoughts. You're the best...!!

This was one my college jams when Bonnie Raitt released it, so I'm loving the cover. A Bastien (bas-TEEN) is such a good addition, bringing some new dimensions to the sound. Tim & Adam are still providing the Home Free underpinning, with Rob taking it low. I know that Chance didn't tee off (that was apparently Bastien), but he could. His range is almost there with Tim's these days. I have felt that the Home Free sound was getting a bit stale for the last couple years. I adore the guys and love listening to them, but they needed to shake it up. Bastien has done that for them.

Hi Jennifer, been watching your videos for a spell now, and enjoy your professional take on the singers you react to. I wondered if you would react to the Danish National girls choir(DR Pigekoret) sing some of the following songs. Magnum Mysterium by Lauridsen, Blackbird, River or Come out and Play. They have a very dedicated group of people around them that obviously bring out the best in these young voices in all levels of production, and I think that you might really like them. There are actually 4 age groups to their choirs, but i have just suggested you start with the seniors for now, thought they are all good. Give them a try, as i do not think you will be disappointed.

Did anyone else have a bit of a video issue? 4:51 it like freezes without any sound and no video movement, it like freezes and it either skips forward 4 seconds or it goes without sound for 4 seconds and there's sound and the video is back to moving again and I can see that teeth gritting reaction at 4:56 is it just me or?
