The intonation is so far off it sounds like a cat crying.

Almost threw up listening to the background music... literally. I watched the vid with no sound. It was just the hardcore constant vibrato and lack of tone

sand the paint of a lid, and you can quickly rust it with salt/vinegar/citric acid. a litte touch up with steel wool, and it looks at least 100 years old.
@hellbilly13736 жыл бұрын
Cuda FX Or you can throw it in a fire, burn everything down to the bare metal, which will be greyed and tarnished. Hit it with some steel wool and it will have a very antique look to it.

Thanks for the video! Rookie q, but how do you then connect the input jack to the pickup? Thanks from Tim in Ireland.
@Goldsmithexile19609 жыл бұрын
+Timothy Daly Hi Tim Thanks for your question, and also apologies for the long delay in replying to you. I have been without internet access since the England Wales game, as I have moved to a new house in recent weeks. I soldered the 2 wires directly to an input jack. It looks like the jack socket was silver plated, it was very easy to solder to Good luck with your build if you do one, its very rewarding

That pickup sounds pretty great to my ears. Does the magnet change tone?
@ArturBernardoMallmann5 жыл бұрын
The scale of the necks marks is completely out. The timber of the pickup is a lot impressing.

How do you build a professional contact microphone (for considerable depth)? Instead of using a very ordinary piezo, it is better to use a condenser microphone capsule and so on. Don't you think so? Interesting this music project for Texan music (somewhat reminiscent of bajno sound). Let me know!!! Thank you very much.

Hello! Which string is commonly used 3rd or 6th? And what note on the open string? Thank you!
@Ucceah7 жыл бұрын
this is a G string tuned to a *drumroll* G! =) you can use just about any string you like. piano and tig wire are know to work well too. (great sustain, metallic sound, dont bend your neck!)
@gorjnjch7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the answer! Great sound!
@GOLDSMITHEXILE7 жыл бұрын
I dont really tune to 440 or a piano or anything, I just think oh that note sounds nice. On a 2 string I sometimes tune them an octave apart. Or tune the strings so that the high string sounds the same as the lower one fretted at the 5th fret (I think) nice powerful power chord type thing

Thanks for watching! i dont use these sort of pick ups now. I prefer either recycled humbuckers or ones made of recycled 12V or 6 V wall wart power transformers. And since this video was produced I now have an ashdown bass como to send them through. Cheers and God Bless, Jonathan

@@Isabella-jx5kw "bad slide technique" LOL are you serious? Get a sense of perspective lady, this was a video I made several years ago about how I made an experimental cap pickup. DUH it was never meant as a how=to video of guitar technique.....clue is in the title......But in any case, not that I need your permission, but I will "carry on" regardless of your petty arbitrary "rules".
