So happy that this was an at-home vlog! They are my favourite. I would say to keep vlogging even though you are ahead, because I'm sure there will be weeks when you are super busy or feeling under the weather, and may not be able to film. You could even throw in an extra video some weeks if you are really ahead, which you know we would all love!

Good afternoon Lydia. Oh lovely Ali has brought my dad to my mind today with all those things he is showing. All those carpentry tools were used by my father, he did wood work, especially cabinets for rich people. Loved the smelling of the glue, thinners and spray paint. He made beautiful things, today my daughter and son have them kept as relics. My dad died 28 years ago and my memories are of him in his workshop making these beautiful cabinets. Blessings to both of you.

Loved this vlog Lydia, thank you. And I’m in complete agreement about “no shame” in admitting you get in extra help with household chores, including garden maintenance. Once we were able, my husband and I brought in a bi-weekly housekeeper for the inside and a lawn service for the outside. GAME CHANGER! We both work full-time, have active/busy children and both services are a lifesaver! I still set up my veg and flower garden every year mostly myself over a few weekends in spring, and the service helps with weekly weeding, and any small chores needed. So helpful and allows me to do the many other things to keep our lives “lifing”😂

also the last thing you talked about i really appreciate. i like that you are open about how you do things and your thoughts on your channel and content etc. as i understood you, you are worried the content will be from "too long ago" once you upload, if that correct? If that's the case you could just occasionally do an unscheduled bonus video once in a while? if your concern is that a bit of a "a queue" of video is emerging. Hope you find a solution that you are happy with :)

Secondly to share, at our small horse farm we have a large battery clock outside the shed where you can see the time from the back yard, where you are working. This is because one can get lost in time in the back yard with a rake. Hence it is a great way to check time, without your writst watch getting full of mud and other stinky farm chores. Changing the clock batteries is a fun annual chore each spring. The clock is your life guard to the sea of time, great to have in the yard. Happliy, a clock with your shed is a great idea as I speak from experience. Glad to see you have a great looking clock! Shit work can be fun with the right tools. Best Wishes.

Arie the tool is an ANTIQUE SICKLE/SCYTHE It was used by farmers to cut wheat and grains. the small wooden piece is an antique SLED used to pull small children in the snow. I was born as raised in Huntington Beach California, a real foo foo shee shee beach community. I however, lived on a farm for a few years as a child in Iowa, a small farming state in the Midwest. The farm was full of antiques hundreds of years old. Both pieces are QUITE RARE. They are often hung up on the wall. I have also seen the sled used as a piece in a covered garden as the center for a floral arrangement/ bush etc. it’s a good idea to put some bees wax on several coats. This will help keep it safe if it is left outside.what an amazing piece to remember grandpa by. I had a similar sled, I would save it and use at Christmas, I would hang as a center piece on a small wall, like an entrance. Put fresh evergreens, baby’s breath, red berries, and of course some of your great Scottish ribbons. It will be the centerpiece of your welcome at Christmas, while giving you memories of your grandpa at a special, often hard time for those who loose loved ones. It will make you smile and think good thoughts.

You know, I’ve thought about it: I’m not at all envious that you’ve got the money. It’s inspiring and I applaud you for living your truth. So what if you buy expensive stuff? We’d all do it if we could. Good on you for owning it and not giving a fluff anymore. I’ve scrolled on your insta all the way to the first pics you posted and I could see the process, the work, the changes, the consistency. Good on you. Change is part of human growth.

No the file is not for sharpening knives. What you are thinking about is a steel which is smooth and has a shield at the end of the metal and the beginning of the handle. The curved knives I believe are called a scythe. My grandfather also was a carpenter and had the hand drill, the plane, etc. so fun to see them again.

Vlogs are so lovely so natural lovely that you think so much about what you put out and how you consider everything you do whether it be being kinder as a person or purchasing less or carding for your animals everyone can see that you are trying to be the best person you can be it’s just so nice to see. I honestly don’t understand why people feel the need to complain when you are trying so hard . These videos are so homely and comforting always makes me want to get out into my garden and start my planting or baking . I also feel that I am watching someone who is being truthful and honest about how they live their life I never feel like I am watching something that isn’t real life I actually feel as though I know you and you are one of my friends who just lives too far away for me to visit ❤x
