Can definitely appreciate the invisible & sustained effort to achieve and maintain a home at such a level. Multiplied by each human, mini human, furry friend etc. And the video production quality matches it! Even the pooch looks like a Hollywood model, cute but dignified, can see the thought bubble "I ain't pedigree, I'm better than that!"

We have always lived in small spaces as well, totally works if you keep the items low. I enjoy it!
@jonr6680Ай бұрын
It's also the fact that the items are blended, matching or complementary, and a common unifying design theme, which seems to have roots in Japanese or similar styles like Muji store. Where the object is simplified to it's essential function but not reduced in quality or esthetic. Most folks (I mean 'me') live among a degenerate & disparate collection of random styles & designs, clashing & jarring. Plus variously decaying...!!

Thank you for the tour of your lovely and elegant home. Nothing "weird" about a minimalist family of five. I think that's a great lifestyle you're teaching your children, even if one is a maximalist! And what does "weird" even mean? 😉 I love all of the decor and colors throughout and couldn't help noticing that even Charlie matches the color palette. 😊I hope that ankle isn't giving you too much trouble.

This time I didn’t get a notification for this video 😢. Your house looks great and you used the space wisely. My house is smaller than yours but I think yours is more practical. The thing is that when I moved into this apartment I started as a kind of a hoarder and bought a lot of cupboards to put all that stuff in and spent a lot of money on it. Now I’m already sick for years, not able to work anymore and have not much money, but most of my linoleum is laid around all the cupboards so it’s impossible to throw them out although they are pretty empty. But I live alone in the apartment so I don’t take up anybody’s space. The cleaning of everything is just the problem 😅.

This is brilliant! Looks soo calm and relaxed without the starkness, empyness that some homes have. I think sometimes that is what people think is minimalism. The crisp white walls with nothing on and no plants or anything cosy. You are a true inspiration of minimalism 👌😘

Little sugar packs seem like a waste of money. I rarely buy sugar. I buy maple syrup that sits by the coffee maker. We have a small coffee table. I hated bashing my leg in the old one. It sits upstairs in my spare bedroom. I decided to use the end table as my coffee table. Adjusting wasn't hard. I'm constantly determining what I don't need and weeding it out. I'm going through my office right now. I got a new smaller set of shelves which meant a lot of stuff went in the decluttering box, including the old shelves.

I like that your daughter is a maximalist. :) Except that I don’t know what a maximalist is! But I love that she has her own mind and way and path and that she does her own. 😊 Shows you are a healthy family! 😊

Beautiful home. I recently decluttered so much at my place and find it has left me feeling less anxious and to me it feels more "open". People ask where did my "stuff" go. That's just it, it was stuff

I always enjoyed minimalism, and it helped a lot when I took my family 8000 kilometres away to break free from russian terrorist regime. Now I can fit ALL our belongings in 6 suitcases and enjoy outer and inner freedom

I grew up in a family of 6. Two parents and 4 kids (3 girls + 1 boy) in a single storey, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 toilet. Eventually my parents built a single carport. Back in the day, we ate in the kitchen and the loungeroom was separate. We did have a medium sized backyard with 2 dogs, cat, pigeon coop and a free roaming duck. Surprisingly the cat and dogs left Daffodil the duck alone. Girl clothes were handed down. Between the 4 kids, we had a handful of toys. We didn't need them because we played with each other, our pets and the swings set in the back yard. My parents only had the essential furniture. The luxury was the one TV. My mum did love her wall art and living pot plants and l've inherited her inclination in those aspects of decor. Your current home is more spacious than the home l grew up in. So no, your home isn't weird.

Rotten to have people tell you how your home should look, especially when it comes to your children’s mental health. Do your own thing😊
