I ended up on the streets 5yrs ago, after a relationship break up, and local council of the place I lived all my life, worked all my life. And all they said was you are a middle aged healthy man, nothing we can do for you. I've Never asked for help off anyone in my life and 3 weeks before Xmas on the streets, no home, no job, couldn't get benefits as I needed a doctors note, and no appointments for 6 weeks after new year. Trust me, if you have never been proper homeless and on the streets with nothing, you have no idea how bad it is. Not being able to just go home and rest, make a drink, use the toilet when you want, need to keep what little personal property with you at all times. Any self worrh you had soon goes, and every day gets harder, which makes you more depressed.

Most people can't comprehend the scope of that and how many ways it hurts to be homeless. How can you get a job if you can't shower, do laundry, and get SLEEP? How do you get to work and what will you eat until your first paycheck? The deck is automatically stacked against a homeless person, and meanwhile, people going on with their comfortable lives tell them to get a job! I can relate. I would love to be able to help people who are down and out like in this video, and I would never get sick of it. LIVES matter. 💖

I've been there my friend and GOD got me off the streets after 3 years. My story is above in a comment but I get it. I used to use card board to sleep on ...and was in Boston. People would walk by you like your not there. Once in a while there would be someone nice come along but very rare.

The problem is not so simple as just money. Drug addiction and mental illness play major roles in homelessness. It is a real challenge to help a person who won't help himself. Notice that CJay did say that the homeless man needed to prove that he wanted to work and change his own life. That is the critical first step.

@@cjay011 Joshua isn't alone when he says these things. I'd be doing what you are if I could. I'm doing what I can do in my community. I've lived off grid in Trapper Creek Alaska for 20 years now and I built my tiny cabin here with very little money. When I moved here I started a freebox because it was needed. It's not big enough to accept furniture but I've been able to keep my communities children and adults in warm winter gear and other things that needed to live. I've driven a lot of those people to our local food pantry when my car was fixed. I'll be able to continue to do this soon. I've been saving my disability money's to get the repairs done on my car. I've lived without electricity for 20 years now but I did have Harbor Freight send me some cheap solar panels and now I can get internet access. I even learned how to put my own septic tank system down by watching a KZbin Channel and it's worked fine for 3 years now. It wasn't an easy task but I no longer have to go outside to the outhouse in feet of snow to poo. I'm 60 now and I'm getting old but I'll continue to do all I can do to help the young adults here in Trapper Creek Alaska. There's just no work for them out here 150 miles to the nearest big town where there is work. I try to help everyone who I can. I gave one homeless man a cigarette and a drink, and a lady that walked past me said "why you helping him" I was really shocked by what she said. my reply was I know what its like and also it doesn't hurt to be nice, maybe you try it one day, she looked at me and walked off. Nice work, I'll be interested to know if that man took his chance and went all in. We are all human beings, hearts and minds, a long time ago someone who loved spoke of this kind of power inside a man who claimed to see the future, who would cry when an enemy died......because when you see a future where all are your friends, you cry when one is lost. Really good work, and excellent dress, make sure to protect just in case, many homeless are decent people living their lives, but some others not so great. @@cjay011 I must tell you it's all love brother I'm strong enough to admit I went thru 13 years of depression in and out of a hospital over a 100 hospitalizations...made homeless over words I said when I could handle my anger mental health problems and I still can't get a grip of how you handle the pressure of helping and get threatened all the time. I pray that you stay strong 💪 🙏 ❤️
