So I just tried this recipe like a few minutes ago and it was wonderful!! The plantain chips were crispy and they tasted good. Just like the packaged ones here in Jamaica.

Aunty P😍😍😍😍 I'll call you that from hence....I tired this plantain chips and my whole family has feasted on it. My dad asked for more even....it is delicious. I'm chewing on some as I'm commenting now. You're method is great. When I was cutting, my grater didn't do a great job so I cut mine with a knife. Thank you so much😘😘😘

Hi. Thanks for this recipe. After adding the salt water to the oil, will I allow the water dry off before putting my plantain into the oil or will have to add the plantain immediately after adding the salt water?

Thank you for the education, I fried some yesterday but I sprinkled the salt in the oil before dropping the plantain in the oil and at the end, my chips tasted salty ahh😚

It looks really really good. Here in Jamaica we have that as a packaged snack. They also have banana chips and the ripe plantain chips. The ripe plantain chips is just as crispy but it's more on the sweet side.

I am going to try this! My youngest LOOOOVES the lime plaintain chips. Any tips on how to incorporate lime juice? Should I add to the salt water? or should I just do salt and lime juice? They can be so hard to find with the pandemic so if I can make them, that would be amazing!

You can actually soak the Plantain in salt water as you slice them then take them out and fry.....easier and taste good also P.S I don’t eat plantain but I make for my kids and friends and they love them..

This is great. Your friend is smart because it can go through evrywhere in the oil so that salt can touch all the plantain chips.

Hi, yes you need to use firm plantains and slice them thinly.

I just put the water into the oil. it's so scary, it's bubbling and splashing alot it seem like it will never stop. I wonder if I just put the salt directly into the oil without the water if it will have the same effect without it being so dangerous

Hi, I'm thinking your oil was probably too hot or you put in more water than needed. If it's so scary, sprinkle salt directly on the plantain chips and fry. Hope this helps and please stay safe.

okocha yomi you can but it won't be crunchy so I'll advise that you use plantains that are just starting to get ripe but still very firm.
