In this world of over-inflated egos, you’re just a dude that I’d welcome just sitting back with, drink a beer, and shoot the crap. Trust me, that’s the highest compliment I give. Maybe watching you will result in a tiny bit of your talent rubbing off on an old guy that’s trying to learn to play the guitar.

I can’t remember the exact year 99 or 2000 you played on a demo for the engineer I was a second for , JR McNeeley. One of the most fun sessions I’ve ever done. After you tracked the song you Sat for hours and played every song we called out. Honestly you never missed one song we called. That’s my little Tommy story and I’m sticking to it

I just told my Mrs what a great day i had, having a coffee, a jam and chewing the fat about the past with my old buddy Tom Bukovac. "Who's he" she said. Well he lives in Nashville, but he never taught me any scales or what gear to buy but man, i've learned so much about playing guitar. She just rolled her eyes (we're in England). You are one of the greats !

It’s not often mentioned that Tom grew up playing in a bar. I started playing pretty young but man you grew up in the battlefield. Gun in hand. I’m envious of the way you spent your time as a young man with a guitar. You were born into the perfect family to make you who you are but you also applied yourself to guitar. Perfect storm and you guided that ship to port.

Hi Tom greetings from Sydney Australia ! here we are @ Homeskoolin' 33 & I have to say along with so many others what a captivating campus of the University of life & music its been !! absolutely ESSENTIAL viewing for any musician to take in & by far the most valuable "hands on" source of real world information about guitar playing & as a working guitarist\singer\songwriter of 30 odd years your Homeskoolin took me back to my own garage of my skoolboy jammin days & the wondrous discoveries of everything since then & made it all feel fresh & new again !!! Huge thanks Tom & I really dig the way you play your golden tone & your whole approach to music & people !! long may you Reign King Tom & please keep Homeskoolin going after this unfortunate situation has lifted & we can all get back to gigging in the "new normal" all the best sincerely ChrisDBlues.

Tom, The brief info on your childhood was cool. I am 10 years younger than my 2 sisters and 1 brother all of them a year apart. Dad told me I was born out of a 3 foot tall bottle of Johnny Walker Red. I used to gig a place called the Surf Side Inn , it burned down. It was kind of like the blues brother gig with the chicken wire in front of the stage. Great story’s and even better playing. Thanks

I've been thinking about your discussion in your last video about the "big personality" thing and I realized I think of it more like an audio mix. You're a midrange guy who isn't afraid to cut through the mix (in multiple ways) while some people lay down that low end personality--calming, quiet, and a nice base for other people to be the best version of themselves, and some people add sparkly top end. Sarah seems like a mix of those last two, hence you getting along :)

I absolutely love your style, touch, and voicing, Tom. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I've been wanting to say this for awhile. Your guitar playing mannerisms kinda reminds me of Joe Cocker's singing mannerisms, but not AS animated. Sometimes it looks like there's no way in Hell that you're in the right hand or finger position, or you appear to be lingering on the current note or chord too long, to be able to nail the next chord or note correctly or on time, yet I've NEVER seen you miss a single ANYTHING. BUT, when you do execute, you make it APPEAR to be all so simple. You're note choice is so "tasty." You are amazingly talented...R.J. was right. He's how I discovered you.. Happy memorial day to you and your lovely wife and family.

“Hey Tom” 😁 Thanks for all you do man, these snippets of your playing are gems - all style, no frills, no fuss..just play. Got me thinking tho, over all your years of playing, have you ever got a block? Like days when you wake up, pick up the guitar and either nothing ‘happens’ or your fingers feel like they’re on someone else’s hand and all that comes out is “bleugh”? What gets you back on the road, on track? Stay safe - Tyrone, on lockdown in the Middle East 👍

Hey Tom, Check it. The one thing that I most admire about you besides your obvious skills as a guitar Slayer and that is your humility when comparing yourself with other greats like Paul McCartney, John Lennon, David Gilmour and the list goes on and on. I want to see either one of those guys stand toe-to-toe with you and just try to keep up. And the other thing I want to say is that I think it's high time you considered writing your autobiography. "b6 Dom7" (15:44) has been bugging me for the last hour. Not trying to be pedantic but I'm at the edge of my understanding and that threw me for a loop. Do you mean the VI(Dom7) with a b5 (C)? Isnt it just a D7?
