I remember this like it was yesterday: dead guy on the stairs, the pretty blond woman being zipped into the bag. What a great show, I miss it!

Do you still remember it like it was yesterday?

God, I miss this show. I miss it like an old girlfriend who's moved in her own direction as much as I've moved in mine and who I couldn't realistically get back together with, but I miss it all the same.

Funny if you have the DVD and listen to the directors comments they said that after this episode aired they were getting calls all over the country wondering what this song was. One of the writers wrote this scene basically to this song and he didnt think they would allow it and was surprised when they did.

@Notebookwriter1 agreed. If you've ever read the book that Homicide is based on, you can see so many real life cases and anecdotes that ended up in both shows.

This scene, scene at the end of episode where Tim Bayliss cousin shot the kid in front of the door (The Kinks - Well respected man), scene at start of episode in season two with Robin Williams (Seal - Killer) and episode with gunfire at Homicide unit (Drifters - Save the last dance for me) are perfect example of using great music in a perfect moment....

Yeah. This show is some of the best work Barry Levinson's ever done, and it never gets old. The music was always well-chosen. Remember Hello Stranger (Barbara Lewis) in the Bayliss's Dream episode? I have the complete box set. Checking out this particular episode´s music led me to discover The Iguanas. Spookily your name is the same as mine.. O_o

I felt that when they used Iris in the Kellerman P.I episode that Slide would've been a better Goo Goo Dolls song lyrically since it's about teen lovers and an abortion. But Iris matched the mood in the scene where the kids are being processed in jail.

This homicide episode (The Documentary) is the most schizo episode in that it has the most incredible "must see" sections divided by the most empty "don't bother" filler sections in-between. Because of the GOOD parts it is an absolutely must see. See it.
@kendallrivers11193 жыл бұрын
Bullshit about Filler, Homicide has always been CHARACTER DRIVEN the mundane scenes of random convo and the characters just talking and goofing on each other is what makes it iconic. If you just like action fluff all the time then go watch a much less smarter show like all the other mindless mess out there.

@@DC3Refom more like Hill Street Blues. Law & Order and it's spin offs are too cookie cutter procedural for my taste with one dimensional characters.

i have the book, i just haven't got around to reading it because i'm kinda busy with Michael COnnelly's books. There should really be a Harry Bosch movie!

The Wire is a tad overrated. Homicide is MUCH better and has MUCH better and more interesting characters

@bravogolfhotel Me too! Are you aware of the irony of the character of Luther Mahoney? The actor playing him was Erik Todd Dellums, son of Congressman Ron Dellums. In real life one of Erik's brothers is serving a life sentence for murdering a man over a bag of marijuana

The Wire by a nose…..ALL sides of the story: the street, the law, and the city government, were being told with unflinching honesty and an almost palpable realism. And that brilliance all began with the stunning “Homicide: Life on the Street”.
