Miss my old CR-V. Due to tragic circumstances, I was forced to part with it, but I'll always remember it fondly as my first 4x4, as well as cherishing all the awesome adventures it took me on. When you factor in the original design parameters of the RD1 CR-V, it really is an outstanding off roader.

That stock X-trail with it's road tyres is also doing pretty well !!!! Stunning road and landscape. Nice video,mate.Came across it while looking for info on the T30 X-trail.

Yeah, great car. Unfortunately I'm still pretty strongly in favour of the CR-V. The extra power of the X-Trail is great, but it's control arms are much thinner which is a little worrying if it takes a hit. We also killed it's MAF sensor on it's first day offroad, whereas the CR-V went deeper in the same water crossing and sustained no damage at all. Going 4wheeling at Glasshouse Mountains also broke the latch release on the tailgate, though it's only a $40 replacement and about 30 minutes work max so not a huge deal but definitely something to be aware of. With a lift and some good tyres they're excellent vehicles but in terms of modifications Honda just has significantly more options. But honestly for a light softroader/4wd both are excellent options! My mate is currently slowly taking apart the X-Trail rn as it has a pretty bad head gasket leak, we're hoping there's no damage to the cylinders but it's not running at all rn.

@Twilight 8368 Haha just check out my most recent 3 videos, it does fine. It's obviously not a rock crawler but if I point it somewhere it has clearance for I never even have to second guess it. Hasn't gotten me stuck yet. Treat it like a comfortable rally car/dune buggy.

2001 5 speed manual. Haven't taken it to beach yet, I want to properly rust coat the underbody before I do anything like that. But I've seen heaps of people running lifted RD1's on beach and they're awesome.

Hey mate, it's off Cliff Barons Rd in Ormeau, you turn onto Cliff Barrons Rd and just continue straight. There's a gate that's always open, just drive on through :)

Nah it blew a headgasket within like 6 months, we had a lift for it but never put it in.
