Having just put a deposit down on one today, a 2015 1.6 diesel 9 speed….this has really reassured me that it was indeed the right call. Thank you for the informative video.

I have a 2016 EX auto petrol AWD, which I love most, my 3 grown-up teenage sons can fit well in the back seats. I chose Honda as it was the only car that could fit all of the six-footers in my family and go on long journeys without complaints.

Thanks for this in depth review on the CR-V. After watch this and other video and also driving a few different models of CR-V I recently put a deposit on a 2016 CR-V VTI-L with the 2.4L 4WD. I hope to pick it up in the next couple of days. The reason I chose this model was after driving it and others I found that the 2.4L petrol suited me better. I also spoke to many people who have the later model CR-V (2018-2022) with the 1.5L turbo and all of them have the same thing and said they wished they had kept the earlier model as the 1.5L was gutless and I agree with them. The car itself was great but Honda pretty much ruined it by putting the 1.5L turbo in it. By the way I live in Australia and we do have slightly different variants to what you have in the UK. On the 2nd hand market over here right now there are thousands of low Km (Milage) 1.5L models for sale as no one want them. Finding a 2nd hand 2015-2016 model here is almost impossible and if one does come up for sale it's snapped up real quick.

I drive a 2020 CRV 1.5T with a Manual transmission in Northern Europe, its not gutless at all its rated to tow two tonnes that's the reason I bought it I regularly tow 1200kg caravan with it and I have no issues, the car is only lacking in oomph when you drive in eco mode as it cuts power and acceleration considerably , other than that I use it in non eco mode and it pull very well. When not towing its fast quick and economical and can do 130mph and gets 45Mpg regularly I have never tried that speed but I am in no doubt it would get there with ease. I had a 2014 CRV before this with a 1.6 diesel single turbo and that was a slow and gutless car and not as economical as a diesel should be. I am more than happy with my CRV and intend to keep it for more years as I do not want to go to a hybrid CRV which is heavy and can only tow 750kg and not much more economical than my 1.5.

@@Azureecosse Unfortunately here in Australia we only get 1 choice of transmission and that’s the single speed CVT transmission and that’s what makes it so Gutless here. If we had the manual transmission option then yes it would have made a big difference to how the car would have performed.

I've read a lot of reviews / driver & owner's comments, saying that the car is crammed up with various sensors, electronics, subsystems - to such extent that, if you leave it parked for two days without driving, you can kiss your car battery goodbye? Grateful if you could comment - is that issue still present with 2017 - 2018 models? Thnx

I always wondered why the British can't seem to properly pronounce vocals in certain situations. "Like almost any other HONDAR I can think of.... " Why the need to add an "R" that should never be there to begin with? Guys over at Car Throttle (another British channel) talk similarly.
