Dad, you are a good teacher. So calm and patient and clear. Patty, you rock! You got more confident with each part of the job. That’s encouraging to me. 65 year old lady who just bought a 2006 Honda CRV. I have a good mechanic who went through and did a lot of stuff but I wanted to learn where things on my car are-That’s what brought me to your video. It was Helpful. Thank you! I had so much fun watching you to work together.

My daughter who is 15 and will receive my 2007 CRV. She just helped me replace the headlights as the DRL indicator was on and I had no high beams. Brought new LEDS and we're good to go. Shout out from NJ to NJ in the video!! Strong dads raise strong daughters!!

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. It is a basic car but it is also basically how every car is. If you watch the other videos on my Benz, the maintenance is the same. For example, the spark plugs on the CRV they are in top and there are 4 of them. On the Benz, the only difference is that they are on the sides and there are 8 of them. And is like that with many things. Thank you so much for watching.

Well done!! I have a 2007 CRV as well, with 172k miles. Your engine looks clean, and Patty did a great job. No yelling, etc and she's not afraid to get dirty, etc.I haven't done my rear diff or transmission fluid, but I'll do it in the future, instead of paying someone. These CRV's last forever if well maintained and are great to drive.

A couple things should be noted when changing engine oil or transmission fluid,first make sure the drain plugs,filters & funnels are “clean” before using or reinstalling them. It looked like the funnel used for re-filling the transmission with fluid had sand or dirt in it? Any dirt on funnels or drain plugs will end up inside your engine or transmission,also only fresh engine oil should be used to lubricate the oil filter seal not grease! Many types of grease are not compatible with engine oil. A tip when installing a battery new or cleaning the terminals is to coat the inside of the terminals & battery posts with dielectric grease,this will prevent corrosion & insure a good electrical connection between the battery & the battery terminals. One more thing to do while under the car is to change the rear differential fluid,many people forget this important part of maintenance. It’s good to see fathers working with their children and passing on some basic skills needed to maintain their car.

Thank you so much for your comment. Great notes. I appreciate it. To answer your question. I cleaned the funnel every time I am going to use it. I don’t let the different oils mix. But good that you brought it up so other viewers make note of it.

I’m surprised you’re allowed to work on your vehicle at your condo parkade , not generally allowed by condo rules because then you have every vehicle being fixed , on ramps , fluid spills everywhere

Hi. Thank you so much for your comment. Other than driving on the opposite side, I think they are the same. If am not mistaken some of the Japan market Hondas are built in Canada. So we get the same in the US as in Japan

5W-20 is better for theses CRV’S
@josecitomarin
@josecitomarin 2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment. That would really depend. At operating temperature they are practically the same. But in cold weather 0w will be better for your engine than the 5w. 0w flows much better in cold temperatures. At start ups the engine is cold as it is. In the winter in New Jersey the start ups are much colder.
