They are brilliant bikes apart from the seat (now replaced with a Shad), the footpegs (lowered pegs now fitted). If only I could do something about the horn button being in the wrong place. I fitted the Puig touring screen with adjustable mountings but, at 6'4'', it made the turbulence much, much worse and I had to remove it. I may remove the stock screen and fit a lower version if I can find a cheap one. I bought the manual thinking that the DCT was too complicated given that my nearest dealer is well over 150 miles away. I have since found out that they are so reliable that I should not have worried. I think the DCT suits the engine characteristics perfectly and is definitely worth having. Thanks for another enjoyable video.

Actually, i have to say that i like the horn and indicator position. I know that it runs contra to convention, however, with regard to ergonomics, I think that Honda has got it right. It is just that most bikes have it the other way around and that is what we have all gotten used to. The lower position of the indicator switch (I feel) is more easily accessed, with just a tiny stretch more to reach the horn, and unless you are riding in Hanoi or Cairo you are more likely to use the indicator more often than the horn ;) I think that it is better, just my 2 cents worth.

It really is a love or hate with the Puig touring screen. I'm the same even tho i'm 5ft 7, the helmet wind buffeting and helmet noise was massively increased over the standard screen, i tried for weeks adjusting, made some screen risers that raised it in 10mm increments up to +90mm higher than standard and -40mm lower, but it just raised or lowered the helmet buffeting or increased the wind noise from as low a speed as 30mph. I can't see how adding the extra wind deflector can make a big difference so my Givi screen has sat on my shelf indoors....
@ccooper87854 жыл бұрын
@@urbanfireblade I ended up removing the screen and replacing it with a secondhand one from the NC750S. It has been a huge improvement in wind buffeting but still gives the bike a "finished" look. I have sold the Puig screen and adjustable brackets but have kept the original screen in the (very) unlikely event of me selling the NC750X.

That’s what I like about Hondas- well designed, well researched,very well built and suited tor the p;unposed. I’m pretty much a commuter myself. The only two bikes I’d favour over it would be the CB500X AND 800 Crosstourer because it has shaft drive and a better screen.
@exeterrider4 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, Yeap honda is my favourite brand. I personally didn't taste the 500x too highly Mainly because of the screen, buffet on the screen and it felt a bit flat when on motorways/highways. Subjective of course. The crosstourer has meant to be superb. I'd like to try one. Stay safe and thanks for watching. E. R

So after 4 disappointing months traded in my Africa Twin DCT for a manual NC750X- I used to have a DCT NC. With the AT DCT I struggled with the gearbox as I found it was always in the wrong gear for me - so after a test ride on a manual NC, which was a pleasure to ride I decided to say goodbye to the AT. I can't imagine riding a bike that's shifting for me, therefore I have also the manual version. In fact I have two NC's, a 2013 700S on which I just completed 100.000 km and a 2014 NC750S with now 27000 km. Still in love with those bikes since day one. Best all rounder on the market. Dear Exeter Rider, Thanks for sharing these very good and inspiring video’s. I really enjoy all of them. I ride a new matt black 2019 NC750X DCT. Do you happen to know the make/type of the rear hugger? Looks good on the bike. Is it effective in rain? Would you recommend it? Thanks and ride safe, Paul The Netherlands
@exeterrider4 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, Yes I highly recommend the hugger. The stock one just covers your bike in crud because it's too short. It is made by a company called pyramid and I think the only place I found them was on Ebay. Its is made with ABS plastic so hard wearing and also smooth so the dirt tends not to stick too it too much. Thanks ever so much for watching my videos, I am very humbled to know I am reaching the Netherlands.I hope your all OK over there. E.R
@paulgijsberts54614 жыл бұрын
Hi exeter rider, thanks for your swift reply. I have installed the front hugger of pyramid too. Ideal to keep the radiator clean. But I was also interested in the rear hugger. I only know a rear hugger from Pyramid, but that is relatively short one, which is installed with a long tie-rap on the rear fork. Your rear hugger looks longer. Do you have a link or something? Much appreciated, Thanks, Paul

hey buddy i have same bike a lot of upgrades. and honestly the bike is good in average but seat is a really nightmare. I've changed 3 times different brands, and always gaining new problems. .. some are too high and change your ride position, other too soft for long trips. and other push you to the front when you use brakes.. so definitely the best way is airhauk inflate pad.. change seat is waist the money
