Just like you, I've dismissed this bike for quite some time, but I find myself quite excited about it now! I'm in the market for a bike, I tried to get excited about other models I'm considering, but the closest I got was a compromise.... The nc750x with dct however, I'm quite excited about! The funny thing is that I'm excited about being excited about a bike! I hope you don't get rid of it and continue to make content on it. Great review and has really helped to make up my mind. My next bike will have a DCT for sure. 1 question that I have (probably a silly one) is how the gearbox copes with being stopped in traffic for a while. Does it default to neutral after a few seconds or stay in first while you hold the brakes? If it holds on to first does this not put undue pressure on the clutch or am I worrying about nothing? 🙂
@exeterrider5 жыл бұрын
No such thing as a silly question Carl. It seems to work off a central frugal clutch so e when the revs are off at traffic lights it totally disengauges. So no worries there mate. Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you have any other questions give me a shout

hi Great video. l am seriously considering this. my main reason is the DCT, its mileage and economy and to an extent it looks like its capable for most terrain, l am not talking of Dakar, l am think of bush tracks and city riding, do you agree. The other thing l want to know is it fine for inter city or long tours which may involve crossing borders and varied levels of roads. What do you think? Lastly does this have the capacity to add on cases? By the way just realised there is an S version, what is the difference? The S looks better but l think the X is more practical.
@exeterrider5 жыл бұрын
Hi Bo, Yes the X version is a more upright bike with higher bars and a small screen essentially. There are panniers, tank bags available from all the major brands and it would make a very good tourer , the only "but" to that is you will need to buy a after market seat ( the stock one is irratating on longer journeys) Also a Puig touring screen is advised to make highway work easier. For gravel roads the DCT will handle that work well as long as its not too bumpy- the suspension isn't designed for bumper stuff although it will still do it if asked. I think it would be a good choice for you by the sounds of it.

@exeterrider4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, when you open the throttle rapidly the bike will know you want air more power and it will change down one or 2 gears itself to compensate for it. Try it in sport 1 2 or 3. Some people get put off by drive because it revs so low. Enjoy👍

Looking for a first bike that my wife and I can share while working on our skills after taking the MSF course. We both prefer an upright riding position and I like the idea of going with an automatic so we can concentrate on learning to ride in a congested urban environment without the stress of shifting. Perhaps later we can pick up a second bike to learn shifting skills. My only concern is with the seat height of the NC750. We rode dual sport bikes in the MSF, and while the seat looked high walking up to it, the height compresses a lot once you sit on it and can easily walk the bike. Would that be the same with the NC750? My wife is 5'6" with a 29" inseam, and I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam. Since we'll be riding on mostly congested city and secondary roads with frequent stopping, we'll be putting our feet down a lot. Thoughts?
