YES! Also, the table wide shot has a power cord in the upper right corner, and it looks like you can see part of a clothes pin and perhaps a piece of diffusion on the center light over the table. Love this and all the Screen Junkie shows, but I do production work, and the wide shot has looked like that for the last 5 or 6 shows and it bothers me.

at the end of the film euguene said that it took years of asking and asking to marry rapunzel. There is a tv series on Disney channel called Tangled the series and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. Alan Menken and Glen slater do the music and songs during the specials and there are three seasons and it's amazing! It's in 2D and there are new characters and more story and character development as well. I love Tangled it's my favorite Disney movie and my favorite tv show. The Princess and the Frog is very underrated.

As for the whole “Is Mother Gothel” witch question, in the original Grimm story she is. Also the prince in the Grimm story doesn’t gouge his own eyes out on purpose. He lands on some thorns and that gouges out his eyes.

Repunzel and Flynn/Eugene weren’t a 90 day fiancé. It says so in the epilogue that they waited years. In the tv show he is constantly asking her to marry him while she’s Princess and she always says no or something happens in the Kingdom preventing it.

No...Tangled is a better story with the better soundtrack, but Frozen has this one hit song and was lucky enough to be the one decent movie which got a wide release in the US in the year it was released (There is also The Wind Rises, but that was released after Frozen and wasn't really available worldwide on a big scale before the year after)

i've read it was the thorns at the bottom that blinded him not that he gouged out his own eyes. the only character i've heard of that does that is oedipus.

lpatterson787 That too. I never heard the prince gouged his own eyes out. He was tricked by the witch to come up the tower, then she pushed him out the window, his eyes were scratched by thorns that were on the ground, Rapunzel found him later and her tears healed his eyes and he could see again. I often wondered if this part of the Rapunzel story influenced the ending of Jane Eyre where Rochester was blinded but then he could see again when he and Jane had their child. Not exactly the same, but there are similarities.

Pascal didn't kill Gothel. Gothel turned into dust - which is what she would have been if the Flower didn't exist (which is quite genius of the writers, actually). Presumably, Disney didn't want a human being disintegrate into dust in front of children's eyes so they had Pascal trip Gothel out the window. For proof, if you watch the clip where Gothel's cape hits the ground, you can see dust flying out. That dust, my friends, are the remains of Gothel. So, in reality, Flynn unknowingly - I assume - killed Gothel.

It's a shame the crew missed seeing the film in theaters. It's rare that I have a fond memory of a 3D effect, but Tangled had a nice moment where the lanterns seemed to be slowly floating OVER the audience.

It's almost like Tangled represents a responsible adult relationship where 2 people fall in love, but continue to learn more about each other before making hard commitments 😐.

Frozen Heart foreshadows several things that happen in frozen, including “there’s beauty and there’s danger here” reflecting what grand pabbie says later about elsas powers and “beware the frozen heart” having an obvious meaning. In fact, the theme from frozen heart plays when Anna’s heart is frozen at the end of Forst Time I’m Forever (reprise)

Thoughts from a songwriter and longtime SJU fan... I, too, was a latercomer to Tangled but loved it once I finally watched it and it is definitely in my top 10 now. (Really enjoyed the honest trailer!) I think you aren't giving its songs enough of a chance though - Mother Knows Best and I have a Dream are Class A songs, and 'When will my life begin' is a solid song too. Frozen is strong on songs, agreed, but I've always felt 'Do you want to build a snowman?" is by far the strongest! Followed by 'In Summer'. Let it Go never felt like the right phrase to me...shouldn't she be singing, "Let it out??" Obviously that sounds stupid but what is she letting go of? It feels to me more like she's letting her true self finally burst out and escape and be free. Finally, I'd recommend a good few watches of the Frog Princess - I think it's really underrated and a gem of a Disney film!
