I found Honest Tea Talk about 3months ago when I take my Shahada. Masha Allah....There really isn't much support for a revert sister in my community. I've also been struggling with acceptance among my very catholic family. Subhanallah your topics helped guide me throughout the process of become a better Muslim. I found honest tea talk at a time that I was in dire need of friends, Muslim friends in a non-muslim environment that is far away from my family. I went through things I never would have imagined and always found myself waiting for the next episode of this program because I found solace in it, alot of the discussions on here were very honest and intelligently delivered that it generally opened my heart and broadened my mind and made me closer to Allah swt. I sincerely hope and pray this is not the last episode because then it'll feel like I lost my virtual friends and I'm alone once again. God bless you and keep you sisters. What Aliyah said really resonated, having gone on a journey of self discovery for quite a while now myself to really embody the real me, being a revert myself and having certain expectations imposed on me by the community was exhausting and very constricting. I can now breathe alhamdulillah, having lifted my head above the water. Yes I got shot down for it and now an “innovator” lol for not following their cult of SPUBs and their ilk which couldn’t be further from the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him), but I’m now living authentically which in turn attracts more authentic people to you and helps filter out the weeds. Very liberating indeed alhamdulillah. I’m rooting for another season in shaa Allah 😁
