Financial Advisor here listen going 0 down is probably the worst deal you can take on a car. It's just going to increase your monthly payments and interest rate so saying "I'm not putting shit down "doesn't mean you're being smart even with great credit it's a bad move. You guys have to learn how money works. If you don't pay it on the front you will pay it on the backend. The car's price is the price that's what should be negotiated. You all did a good job telling him about those BS fees though. A car shouldn't go from 58k to 73k ever. Unless you are adding more options to the car or it has some options. The max after taxes prob like 63k realistically. Also unless you are going to keep a car your buying for 8+ or 9+ years do not finance the car. A lot of people finance cars then only keep them for 2 years then end up upside down then want a new one that's dumb. Just go lease the car you want then every 1 - 3 years you can get in the newest car and pay for depreciation and miles.

@ryanc29279 ай бұрын
What happens is that you also pay interest on the back end when they up the sticker like that. Whether you know it or not it was good you went elsewhere. W a 4-5% Apr on a 75k car you’re paying another 3k yearly PLUS your monthly.

If you’re pre approved and your bank is on the dealer financing network, you can use that to your advantage. Have them match your pre approval (or better it) so you get the terms you want and they also get their loan commission.

@@snippyduda It does help with monthly depending on the person's income. For every thousand you put down. It's about 20-25 Dollars off your payment. So if the payment is $560. You add 3 grand. Payment is now $500. That's a big deal to some. Just depends

It only makes sense if you plan on keeping the car for the entirety of the loan and paying the car off. If you sell it after a year or so putting money down doesn’t make sense.

Easiest way to combat this is go in with a payment in mind, Know your credit deeply, and fight for a good APR. when you see a payment that’s higher, call around for other dealers to beat the payment you’re given on the one you want and use those lower payments as leverage. They will match if they want the sale. see fees and all on top but they’ll end having to cut out a lot of those on the backend to get to or close to your payment for the sale. They just won’t tell you they’re willing to do that.

Great catch on the fees because they will tack it on. We bought a Jeep, crawled under and check for rust. We put it in 4 low and did a couple of figure 8s listening to the engine and transmission. Checked the oil and smelled it to make sure we did not smell gas. Inspected the radiator overflow, if its empty, run!
