Why do we hate bcm now? I didn't want to afford their stuff to begin with...

I don't think WE hate BCM, but they took a bit of bad press over the last few years for some QC issues and a subpar customer service response. Sounds like a very isolated incident but it gets around fast on social media.

My bcm mk2 14.5” middy is nuts. I couldn’t get a functionally better carbine if I spent 3x the money, probably more. It shoots 0.6 moa with Mk-262 mod C all day long at all ranges out to 650m from a bench with a squeeze sock and a shitty magpul bipod, and I’m not even a very good shooter (Geissele ssa-e trigger). I’m at 5500 rounds (not all of them mk-262, I aint rich) and have not had a single stoppage of any kind. About 30% of that count has been through a Silencerco Omega 36m in a 5” configuration on an ASR charlie 3 prong qd mount. Ejection is around 2:00 with the silencer and 3:30 without silencer (shooting mk-262). Minor cleaning performed at time of purchase and at each subsequent 2000 round milestone (wipe down and re-lubricate). Re-lubricate every 1000 rounds whether its cleaning time or not. I pull a boresnake through the barrel a couple of times before each training session (1-2 times per month usually). Ive been using high temp wheel bearing grease to lubricate - it stays put, doesnt burn off quickly, lubricates well and best of all, its really cheap and a small tub of it will outlast the rifle itself! No way I’d buy any other carbine. There just simply is no reason to. Every company makes errors and every company has haters. 🤷🏻♂️

Seems people are all adult children and can't comprehend that their "$7k super AR" with a whole 4 courses ran and 2 classes is great, but they aren't! I'd bet any country kid that grew up with grandpa's single load spring bolt 22 or 20ga over\under, can pick up any 2a item and do better. I'm not from the north and I'm shocked to see people with setups worth a couple used cars per rifle or handgun be gobsmacked that someone could just pick up something and use it better than they can. The AR is great, but it's truly a "gamer gun" in comparison to the truly overlooked other options. For every perfectly built and functional AR I have seen, there's been 5+ that have everything or parts and pieces that simply don't work. But at least they're trying. It shocks me how many of them fail to follow things that kept a lot of Us alive as children when some neighborhood kid decided to bring out something from Dad's nightstand that wasn't a Playboy! It's been sad to see people get sentenced for a business card, while geissele put "FULLY AUTOMATIC" as their damn banner basically 🤡🌍 Before you respond. I know you didn't ask and no one hurt me! I'll agree the buffer and spring, and gas system/block are not as nice, and the ALG rail (which is the nicest part of that rifle) is definitely better. The ALG barrel is also probably "nicer," but in any quantifiable way? I'd also take the Holosun over the Swampfox clone That leaves $600 to buy a turbo K and a stamp, and pin and weld it to your PSA for around the same price as this rifle. If you’re not really a gun guy and you want a rifle that checks the boxes of duty grade and don’t want to have to bother with figuring out what optic or sling to put on it, then this is an easy, no-brainer way to check that box. You can tell from the essay on what “mil-spec” means that they aren’t trying to sell this to anyone who knows what they’re shopping for.

I wish ALG would support their existing loyal user base. I have one of their rails but can’t get a front sight mount for it. The least they could do is put drawings on their web site so that we could 3D print them.

I wonder if it was the lack of demand that has led to discontinuing of the ALG handguards. The ALGs were not "high speed" flashy looking, but strong and functional which probably led to their demise.

If you want something good with what looks like the same mounting system check out the UTG Pro super slim free float handguard. I know that company makes some cheap stuff but the Pro line are made in America and good quality. They have 6 mounting screws and they hold up really well and are pretty lightweight.

Thoughts on best complete upper for $600? I've been buying PWS Pro uppers for that price target, they seem to be quality and I run everything suppressed, so the adjustable gas system is nice.

Billet forging is a thing, but not like that… it’s like a billet that’s made via forging cause it’s for a non-homogeneous grain that way and so stronger, but then typically machined/milled.

They should just put M4 stock and a standard A2 grip. That would knock the price down about a 100$

It looks like a solid rifle. At that price I would expect a CHF barrel and a pinned gas block. The description looks like something written by a 6th grader for an English assignment. It really lets the rifle down.

The name is cringe and the product mediocre. Instead of El jefe they should be calling it El dealer or Coyote or something else from the lower ranks. El chaperone.
@Doughboy19419 ай бұрын
@@randomidiot8142 Definitely not mediocre. Is it amazing, no are there other options that are better, yes. That doesn't mean it's horrible. It's a decent rifle at an okay price. Street price will probably be $1000, might go on sale for less. It has some really nice features unfortunately it's let down by the cringe marketing. And yes the name is awful.
@randomidiot81429 ай бұрын
@@Doughboy1941 not amazing, not horrible, better than some, not as good as others. That's the definition of *mediocre*: of ordinary or undistinguished quality.
@Doughboy19419 ай бұрын
@@randomidiot8142 If the street price is over $1100 then yes I agree it would be mediocre. It will probably street for $1000 and go on sale for $900. At around $900 I think it would be a pretty good option for someone's first AR. Not having to spend money on tools and having a factory warranty would be a compelling reason to buy not build.

Honestly, I turn into Hop videos when I need a dose of negativity, so not a whole lot. But dang, I watched a few minutes (rerun) of the Geissele livecast and when they got to the sling…I was done. So bad. This is spot on.
@DesertDuc9 ай бұрын
Lol, I saw some comments on the live stream reveal talking about how Hop would be excited to see the return of the ALG handguard but I had the exact reaction Hop did in that having only the 45s is just weird and difficult to use. I also called it with the optic and sling being basically worthless. Bill Geissele is clearly a bit of a geek and goes way too hard into the specs of the stuff he produces, I appreciate that in someone who designs and manufactures stuff but it's not always the best for sales, and it can turn into a lot of "word vomit" as is obvious in the description. Something that didn't come up in this video, Geissele spent some time in the live stream talking about how they were NOT going to use the A22 grip. Citing that even though he personally prefers the finger groove and the steeper rake for target shooting, most people don't like it and it isn't necessarily the most comfortable for a modern fighting rifle setup. He also went into how the A17 was modeled after the 1911, the greatest handgun in the world, and since the 17 degree grip angle is so prolific in the firearms world it would make the most sense for the A17 to come on the rifle since it's designed to be an "everyman's" rifle. Yet the product listing shows it with the A22... So not only will someone have a less than ideal handguard that they may choose to want to swap out eventually, they'll have a crummy sling, crummy optic, crummy stock, AND crummy pistol-grip that they'll probably want to swap out *immediately*. As is you could do a lot worse from a lot of other companies, but there's plenty of $1000-ish rifles that are kitted out more ideally. They might not have Geissele's QC or adherence to mil-spec, but a lot of that is very arguable value considering modern materials and coatings advancements. I think the smarter move would be to sell El Jefe "slick" for sub $1000.

Ive only recently subscribed & am not sure how I’ve never ran into your channel.. Well, glad I’ve found someone who tells it like it is & does so with class & taste with some spicy pizzazz.. It’s funny, I had a LMT Piston AR and always liked the SOPMOD butt stock with the battery storage compartments. I remember seeing this butt stock that literally was a replica of the B5 SOPMOD variant priced at the time around a fair $100… I then had been searching for the LMT SOPMOD on their website and noticed it was double in price which It definitely rubbed me the wrong way…. I’m not exactly sure if LMT’s SPMOD is identical to B5’s but it surely raised some suspicion. 🤙
