I am sorry to say but you need to work on the striding. The horse didn’t know if he should trot or canter. I would personally take all of the poles away to make it easier.

He's beautiful! Lovely jump on him and huge potential! I'm no Free jump expect but poles seem a bit out of place? Honestly just a question, unless he's just not quite got the hank of the strides and is making it awkward? I also love how you are just easing him into the jump and not pressuring him. He obviously LOVES to jump! If you could reply to this it would be amazing!!

I have to agree with other commenters, the striding is off and it can change with each horse. It seems the ground poles between the jumps are messing up the horses a bit but I think Utah jumped so beautifully. He is gorgeous and as a jumping trainer I'd love to ride a horse with so much jumping potential to see how far I could take him. Take everything in stride(lol), great video! :)

I'm not trying to tell u what to do but a good tip is if ur gonna make the horse canter over their poles and/or jumps make them properly space for there stride.

There are 4 basic things these people need to do before attempting free jumping and/or any other activities. These 4 things are 1: lengthen the distance between the poles. 2: you don't need lunge whips to ask a horse to do something. 3: gain the horse's respect with ground work, so the horse isn't anxious. 4: learn horse body language before working with horses.

they can do it however they want. they obviously just use the lunge whips to keep the horses going since it's a big arena. you can tell they moved the poles for each horse and the last horse is obviously newer to free jumping so his strides were inconsistent. you don't have to hate or anything if you disagree with something they do then don't watch their videos.

A lunge whip is an extension of your body, not something you hit the horse with. It's used because riders arms aren't several metres long and it's thus way easier to use a lunge whip to show the horse the direction and pace you want it to go at. And this horse shows exactly zero anxiety.

the first two look alright, and I think for the last horse he was just inconsistent with his stride and gait

Are the strides different lengths incase he become a showjumper and has uneven strides between jumps
@ellaw73845 жыл бұрын
Why do every one of these free jumping videos have such wrong striding? The same striding does not work for every horse. You could throw your horse off balance and possibly injure them. This isn’t hate, but constructive criticism.

Those poles are way to close for that horse to cater through them
