I’m going to Horseshoe Bend and Upper Antelope Canyon for the first time in March. This video was very helpful.

A beautiful place for sure. Seen lots of photos before but I’m sure seeing it doesn’t do it justice.

Great video again Mads, I was at these 2 locations a few years ago and it's not changed then, full of tourists and I got the feeling I was on a conveyor belt getting herded through the canyon but I would go back tomorrow in a heartbeat. Stunning locations.

Yeah I kinda feel the same about going back. Those canyons are amazing. But also very expensive by now...

It's always a treat when KZbin sends me an email saying you have posted a new video. Excellent job Mads! Thanks for posting.

Very nicely done. I have been there a few times as well and in January. I don't think i want to be there in the summer. In 2014 I was the only one at the lower canyon and got a private tour from the lady for 2 hours. I know that was one lucky day.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Yeah summer should be a pain and not worth it. But the sun will be at a better angle, so it's all about priority I guess :)

Nice vid. Question. Do you remember which tout company you went with and were you allowed to bring a tripod? Any help is appreciated. Thanks much.
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Photonerds University went with Ken's tours, but they seem to be the same ;) we went on a specific phototour and we could bring a tripod. I don't know about the regular tours.

Loads of info and great channel. What was the duration of your US trip? And do you have plans to visit again?
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anand! I was there for 40 days and I have plans to visit again yes :)

What settings did you use for lower antelope? I'm going there next week and I didn't book the photography tour so I won't have a tripod on me. I want to take low iso, but then my shutter speed can't be very slow because of no tripod. What do you recommend?

Antelope Canyon is very beautiful but like Horseshoe Bend, very crowded. There are some hidden slot canyons very close to Page that most people don't know about. You can explore, record video and take pictures and you will most likely be the only person there!
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Nomadic Lens Photos that would have been really nice to know! It was pretty crowded in Antelope, but I think we were pretty lucky it wasn't high season :)
@Simon_PieMan6 жыл бұрын
Horseshoe Bend does get quite crowded but at least if you get to the edge folks aren't really in the way.

Do we know if photo tours are open now? And Mads who would you recommend?

Thank you for including your camera settings. Did you change lenses while you were in the can You?

While I was in the can You? You mean canyon? :P As far as I remember no, I did not.

Is the lens you were using for horseshoe bend a 16mm fisheye?

Mads, amazing video... a question!! What is the best hour to photograph Antelope Canyon? I just have 2 days to explore places near Page!

Thanks a lot, I think it's when the sun is close to the horizon :)

Agreed. Antelope Canyon has gotten a bit too big for its own good. Such a beautiful place though! If only it was a six mile hike to go and see it. . . then there would not be so many tourists. . .
@MadsPeterIversen7 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah, that would help a lot! :) But they'd probably just build a road ;)

what is the best season to visit these sites with the least tourism around you?

Not sure. December seemed pretty good.

I've heard they've discontinued photo tours because it has been so popular and photo tours take up too much time.
@MadsPeterIversen5 жыл бұрын
Might very well be. It wasn't too crowded when we were there in the start of December, but can of course have gone crazy since.

Sorry to say Photography tours are cancelled from 2020.
