Cuba is a miserable place. You need to pay for a Visa to get in. There are two currencies, the peso for the tourists the CUC is pegged to dollar 1 CUC=1 USD so no exchange benefit and, and you have to pay a 10 tax/ exchange rate , both ways to get them. So essentially that dollar becomes worth about .80 cents before you even start. About $85.00 to $100.00 for a VISA , UFF, No credit cards, it's a cash or barter society. I went on an invitation from a Cuban friend and his girlfriend, we spent time with the families in Cardenas, a chance to freely explore but I have no interest in ever returning. If you want to see old cars, go to the local car shows and save a bunch of money.
