First video i watched from you, i really like the way you give your opinions as non-biased as possible and explain why you feel the way you do. The end there as well, where you instead of saying "this one is better" explained that the cars were meant for slightly different people and slightly different uses. Not too long ago I test drove a modded 2005 "Saabaru" 92-x Aero (WRX). Stage 1 tuned w BC Racing coilovers. An absolute performance machine that was a thrill to drive. Unfortunately though there were too many red flags w the car. What a bummer. So I bought a 2009 GTI. The GTI is better for everyday driving, but the modded Aero was like an STI, so it was twice the car. Both great cars, but they are different.

I know this video is old but have you tried left foot braking with traction control off? Maybe then it wouldn't cut power.

They certainly aren't for everyone but they are a part of GTI history and I personally love the way the look but I understand the other side of the argument. Thanks for the comment!

Left foot braking? My driving experiences obviously need to expand! I like how this compares and contrasts two cars in the same video. Of course, the VW wins out in the end! :-)

I realize this is an old video, but the GTI is terrible compared to the WRX. As a matter of fact, that GTI has probably broke down by know.

The WRX certainly is more fun to drive hard but the GTI is very close and offers a little luxury too. It serves a different purpose and isn’t for everyone. I love them but if you’re looking for pure performance, the WRX is the better call. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Cars and Comments my issue with the wrx is that the gti has a more premium feel to it, but the wrx has a nice sporty feel but the materials feel rather cheap when you compare it to the GTi

Agreed. The GTI is a lot of fun but the WRX is definitely sharper than its German rival. The GTI’s interior is impressive for the segment though. I really like both both but it depends upon the person and their situation. Thanks for your comment!

So has the wrx lol it’s probably spun a bearing or caused knock due to cylinder 4 overheated
