My review of my 2011 STi: Handles like a dream, incredibly fun to drive daily even if slowly, gas mileage isn't great, but its better than my old wagon, I usually get around 24 highway, 17 city. You can mod these things to hell and back but don't expect to go over 350 crank or so without doing a full engine rebuild. Interior is pretty spartan, but it's comfortable enough. For a sports car, the ride quality is fantastic, with bumps not being too jarring while still having near no body roll. Get this car while you're still young, its the best cheap fun you'll have besides maybe a BRZ

a wrx hatch i see as a unicorn kudos on the music nice to hear something other than rap on a system. while i don't really care for space wasting subs it was tastefully done.
@Altek15 жыл бұрын
The hatch looked very rally to me, that's why I had to go with it. I was worried about the sub taking up too much space but a 10 provides so much sound and with banana clips on the back and simple Velcro, it comes out in seconds and can still be loaded like a hatch. Glad you liked it bud

I own a rare hatchback wrx sti GRF with an automatic transmission.. My head gasket blew at approx. 15,000miles and the car was 100% stock.. It was driven hard in temperatures exceeding 135f (58c) in Kuwait.. 😂 So I can't really blame anyone but myself as it is my first turbo car and the car that got me into cars 😅 now after 5 years of ownership, it is still stock just because I can't find a reputable tuners where I live. 😕

I owned the first STI The 2004 model. One of the funnest cars ever and easy to Mod. The real weakness of the EJ25 engine is the cast pistons that start to develop cracks under even mild pre-detonation. After doing some basic stage 1 and 2 mods and driving it pretty hard for about 75k miles. I had a stage 4 engine dropped in with forged internals, a moderate size turbo and tuned on E85. When they pulled apart my old motor, they said it had cracked pistons but it still ran good. That car is solid and a blast…I’m sad I eventually got rid of it.

Back in 2014, I was debating whether to get a 2013 with the old 2.5 liter engine, or wait for the new 2014 model with the new 2.0 FA engine. I figured the extra displacement would be nice, as my 2005 WRX, with a 2.0 engine, was weak and had critical turbo lag. I'm SO glad I waited for the new FA engine. It's hella powerful, gives boost at just 2K, and way more reliable than the flaky FJ 2.5 engines. I do miss the rumble, but I'll take power and reliability of the FA engine any day. I recommend staying away from the STi or any other model with the 2.5 engine, and get the stock WRX with the 2.0 instead. Aside from reliability, it's actually way better and more fun to drive than the bigger engine, too.
