@@JungleNatine77 "Only persons ignorance is showing is yours". You are clearly unable to complete a sentence correctly, while calling someone else ignorant. The irony is palpable. Anyone with an IQ over 70 understands why the police did nothing wrong. Your condemnation of the officers doing their job supports that assertion.

@@JungleNatine77 I think the point s/he tried to make is that the police shouldn't be sued simply for doing their job... the hotel employees were in the wrong, not the police. The police are there to remove somebody that the hotel asks them to, not tell the hotel what's fair or not. That isn't their area of expertise. The man did right by suing the hotel and/or its employees. It wasn't the employee's "jobs" to call the police on a GUEST that did nothing wrong. That was an example of racially profiling.
@makevideos4985

@Carl Helbert Right and wrong is not the issue smart guy. It's about legal and illegal. The man was on private property, those in charge of the property told him he was no longer allowed to be there. Police have to enforce the property management's wishes. It sucks, but Cops did nothing illegal. This man's issue is with the property owner, and he should sue them/; however he has no legal grounds to sue the police.

Tell me about it. My experience was my Mother was in a wheelchair and we went to an Applebee's. It was not handicap access . No one opened the door. I asked for a table. The host would not sit my Mother. I demanded to see the Manager. He barely apologized. I called up their headquarters in Kansas City. They were very unsympathetic and asked me rudely what do I want. I guess they won. My Mother died 2 years ago. But I'm proud I defended her at least. I hope they go out of business.

They saw him as 'different' so they had to call the police (which is another story altogether). The sad thing about this man and many others like him is that they get it from both sides, from whites for being black and from blacks for being educated. It is a shallow system of judgement that benefits no one. Culture is not even brought into consideration, most folks are not that deep over here.

The company was going to lose me as a customer so they tried to embarrass me. It didn't work. I showed the cops the email printout with the appointment. They tried to claim other things until their own video showed I was cooperative. It went to court and they LOST $. The black man had every right to be there as a guest.

I worked at a hotel in Missouri as an overnight staff worker. One of my jobs was to ensure that anyone using our facilities is a guest. One night in particular I caught a group of teenagers jumping our back fence to get into the hot tub. I approached the group of about 10 teens of mixed races and asked if they were all guest. They were very polite to my question saying yes. And when I asked if they could show me their room keys everyone of them had a key card. After I had confirmed that the keys were active and that they were theirs as per policy I informed them for their safety and well being that they cannot jump the back fence and they Apologized and we went about our evenings peacefully. It's not hard to asked a question if it's policy, and especially if a guest shows proof they are a guest. As a former Hotel worker I am disgusted by these staff members

Loitering as a catch-all charge is being very difficult to prove in court or use to defend against in a lawsuit. It is a very specific charge with very specific criteria. This is NOT a diversity training issue! Human beings do not require special training to be able treat fellow human beings with respect and decency! From the outset this victim was considered to be an undesirable, suspected delinquent threat to the guests! Upon showing his proof of guest status, the security guard and manager should have offered profuse apologies (and refunded his bill as a gesture of goodwill!). Yet they both chose to ignore the obvious fact that here was a genuine hotel guest, and they both decided to further humiliate, intimidate, abuse and refused to treat him as the legitimate guest that he was. It is not possible to draw any conclusion other than that this was a hideous act of intentional racial discrimination! Land of the Free?

Totally agree. You can "train" people to love everyone and accept all races. It is the individuals that choose what do after. Racism exists because of people's own thoughts and preconceptions. thats the problem though, what usually leads to these types of situations is a question like that then the black person refuses to show any kind of ID or whatever because they immediately decide its a racist thing to be asked to show proof that you are supposed to be somewhere. so then it escalates. but I will say that in all my 42 years of life I have never had any security person at a hotel I have been staying at question whether or not I should be there,so they are probably right when they assume they are being questioned due to there race. they could avoid escalation by just cooperating. I have been followed around stores though and have had security question me when I was in a gated neighborhood walking and they didn't recognize me as a resident, I just choose not to make an ordeal out of things like that, I will show ID or explain why i am somewhere to security or police, that means they are doing there job.

In the context of what is claimed definitely seems strange. I've had some scenario's like this, where the guest may have caused hassle, disturbed other people, and then when police arrived the story is like what is shown, act like they were perfectly behaved, and claim they were treated terribly. Eg. he was on the phone to his mother, but using foul language with other guests nearby, asked to stop, or he was hassling/abusing other guests, saying I can do whatever I want I'm a guest, then they decide to remove him regardless of being guest or not. The attitude of the staff there is like they are sick of it, which may mean they have tried to resolve this a number of times before and now don't care any more, know he won't co-operate and its time for the cops, and ignoring the key means he knows he's a guest by then and it doesn't matter. To me this doesn't quite feel like that type of case, he's a little too calm, they know they are on camera so should be preventing the false narrative by bringing up if he cause issues before. Its possible its exactly as presented that they are just that stupid and racist, but does seem a little much in that case. I suspect a little more going on to get the attitude they are showing him. I'd be more inclined to believe he acted out at least a bit before this, but suspect not enough to justify their actions, so its meant they blew up a smaller situation they shouldn't have because of bias rather than just arbitrarily decided the black guy had to be kicked out. And I've also had examples something like this. A minority member claiming I was racist when I didn't let him have his way on something, trying to get me to say something he could get me on while secretly recording on his phone. In another case a black man going mad and shouting (literally) racism in my face when I stopped him to check him, when we stopped and checked literally everyone else just the same as him, others checked while he was shouting at us right in front of him.
