@@HangYuriYangFX it’s proportional integral derivative controller. Self driving cars & video game path finding algorithms use it! There’s a few really good videos on it on youtube. It should eliminate the oscillation in direction change when the ship is on the line. I couldn’t notice it at all in the final animation though! Just the video showing the forces being applied or whatever that line depicts. Been making the dive into Houdini for about a year & you are one of my main inspirations!!

@@JaridMitchell thank you! Houdini really has endless possibilities. It’s really cool! The main difficulty when I was coding this was balancing the different turning forces. V1 had two, weird result but kind of following. V2 has the extra one that will make the boat follow when it is on the line.. and somehow it worked I have no idea how hahahaha

Yeah, you are a Houdini Guru!! I come from a mainly computer science background, so Im excited to use VEX! Im a self taught 3D Freelance in my spare time, so Houdini seems like the perfect match! Hopefully one day I can change career paths from purely programming to something involving 3D/houdini!!@@HangYuriYangFX

Also, Yeah, I imagine the oscillation would be more noticeable on something where you could see the steering input (like the tires of a car), but for a ship controller this is perfect!@@HangYuriYangFX

Try the glTF version! That should automatically give you everything. I love that format a lot!
