The Marvin Infinity has been a great window for our customers. Their double hungs have the best beauty, and the finish texture of the acrylic cap is sooo smooth. Planning to get these for my own home.

My install crew say they don’t want anything to do with fiberglass or fibrex windows, that they can easily crack upon installing. These guys are the best I have ever seen. It’s all they have ever done for 30+ years.

I can agree with you about five bricks. It's splinters quite easily in the cold weather. I've never heard of this issue with fiberglass. Maybe they don't do enough of them to have that level of experience required?
@bW9taeH43 ай бұрын
Fiberglass is a generic term. I'm not in the window business and have no idea what each manufacturer of fiberglass windows uses, but I've read good things about Ultrex used by Marvin Infinity. I'll know better in a decade or two, but for now, it seemed like a great choice.

So glad you got to make a video on Infinity. I’ve been selling Infinity exclusively for 5 years and have no desire to sell anything else. A few months ago I met with a woman here in Austin, TX who wouldn’t even let me quote this product line and insisted that I quote her Essentials at the same price solely because you had done a video on Essentials you had never done a video on Infinity. She literally wouldn’t believe me that the Infinity was the better window… simply because I wasn’t you. She’s a classic example of someone watching too many videos and believing themselves to be an expert because she spent 😂six hours on KZbin. All this “knowledge” and disregard for my expertise led her to getting the lesser quality product… firmly believing she outsmarted me the whole way. I hope she watches this video and thinks of me.

Jeff, I really love your videos. They help us laymen make decisions. I just had a Marvin salesman at my house. He is going to price these out as full tear-outs as well as inserts. He said a full tear-out is the BEST option, but that my current aluminum clad windows are such that an insert wouldn't be out of the question. What do you typically recommend? Tear-out or insert? We are in the Pittsburgh PA area. Thanks for any input
@HoustonWindowExperts5 ай бұрын
He's probably right. Infinity is very selective of who represents them. I'm sure he knows what he's doing. I'd say that 80% of ours are inserts.
@oldskool46125 ай бұрын
Love your videos Jeff. I like the Infinity Windows from Marvin as well. But my understanding is they have to be installed by the dealer because of the warranty. That's understandable but it also makes them very expensive because of that. I'm currently evaluating different manufacturers of fiberglass windows for replacement in our home. Maybe you'll consider me to be tight, but my proposal for eight 39.5 x 35 double hung Infinity windows came in over $1700 per window installed. I can source Pella Impervia Windows for $900 less per window un-installed. I do understand the importance of a professional installation, but the Infinity proposal seems high to me. The cost to install a window shouldn't be more than what the window price is. In my opinion, 39.5 x 35 windows are not huge windows either. I also have four additional larger windows included in this project. As much as I like the Infinity product, I'm having a hard time convincing myself to purchase them at that price point respectfully.
@HoustonWindowExperts5 ай бұрын
I get it.... If you buy Impervia for $900 and pay $350 for labor... You're not far from the $1700 price point. I think you're getting the same value for both. The Infinity should cost at least that extra $400 per window considering the difference in quality.

What's the difference between Marvin Infinity and Marvin Essential windows? Infinity wasn't available in 2020 when we ordered windows for our new home. The all Ultrex window options at the time were Essential and Modern. Modern 8'x10' patio doors were $17k vs $5800 for Essential but the Modern is more of a very heavy duty commercial door with the price to go with it, so Essential was more in our budget. Essential windows were limited in size for an operable casement, so we had to order fixed windows in Essential for 7' high openings. I'm assuming the Infinity windows have thicker jambs to avoid operational size limits and fill the void between Modern and Essential?
@HoustonWindowExperts5 ай бұрын
That is a great question. I totally get where you're coming from. Yes, you are right, the Infinity product is a specialized product that fills the gaps on almost every one of the Marvin product lines. It is a very robust unit, that is very attractive, and it's built for the replacement industry where the home dictates what size windows you need, unlike new construction.

Pella Impervia is great, but nowhere near the infinity. The internal jams are PVC, and the surface could use an Acrylic finish to cover up that duct tape look. I sell it when my customers need a step down to save some money.

@@HoustonWindowExperts Yes please! Been waiting on a video of the Marvin Essential line. Essential & Infinity are all fiberglass (this is where a comparison between the two need to be made). Elevate has the wood interior, so I don't see how that makes Elevate a step up just because it has wood on the inside. We didn't want to deal with the maintenance involved with the upkeep of the wood so went all composite. When you go to Marvin's main website, it says nothing about the Infinity brand, Infinity has its own web domain, it just makes things confusing. Also doing a search online, there really is no solid explanation of the differences between the Essential and Infinity. It's almost as if Marvin purposely wants to keep the differences blurred.

Hi, I had new windows put in about 10 yrs ago. They were cheap vinal windows. The worst thing was they just stuck them in and caulked them, and left. I never noticed till later that the windows was put in wrong. You can see daylight in between where you raise the window and window frame. Not the frame and thrim. I have to keep rope caulking in them and cannot raise them. I am going to replace them, but I want ones that will last. I am on disability and cannot afford to get another bad job and cheap windows. Can you recommend a place that has a showroom for the Marvin windows. Also can you recommend a company around Middle Tennessee area that can install them. Thanks I have enjoyed your videos.
