While I am not 100% whole food plant based, I have been vegetarian for 30 years, and more recently need to be gluten-free, avocado-free, and dairy-free. My husband eats very different and we both allow the other to eat the way we wish to. When you spoke about Lent and there is no food to give up, I relate! The last Lent thing I gave up as a teen was potato chips. Now, not a concern. Thanks for another great video.

Meal buddy :) What will you eat when you are on vacation with your friends (assuming they don't partake in the same eating style as you) and what do you eat at a wedding? I am trying to eat plant based but my husband does not so it's hard when he likes to go out to dinner with me on the weekends.

Hi Emmie, thanks for sharing this info. I love your smile, your tiny waist and your belief that the plant based diet is the best. However I beg to differ, I eat clean 85 % and whole foods, however plants make me bloated and gassy, I look 6 months pregnant, salads trigger an anti histamine response in my body and I will have runny eyes and nose and a lot of mucus. Plus I am hungry all the time as they are not satiating, I have an active (an stressful) life style and work and I exercise 2-3 times a week. Plus let us not forget the taste: for me lettuce and kale do not taste as good as a cheesecake, so I always eat to be healthy but occasionally I will have the naughty and tasty staff because I DO NOT WANT to give them up completely. I had ONLY healty, clean foods for a while in the past and I still did not get my dream body....so why would I be eating only salads and veggies?
@leahvincerouse5 ай бұрын
I don’t think you have watched Emmies videos. 😮 She NEVER tells you to eat only salads. She actually touches on that in THIS video. She eats mostly cooked food. Take a look at her videos. She has a plethora of information and recipes that are not just “lettuce and kale”. 😊
@Maddy-hn3pp5 ай бұрын
Hi, I didn't say I eat only salads, I do eat cooked vegetables and fruits, my body doesn't tolerate them well, I am bloated, gassy, ravenously hungry and tired, I fall asleep whenever I sit down. So I had to introduce animal protein, good oils....
@Maddy-hn3pp5 ай бұрын
One more thing, a lot of people including myself do not have the privilege to sit at the table alone or in a calm and relaxed environment to chew food 50 times, sometimes the lunch break is 10 minutes, quick and rushed....😢 Do you have any suggestions and tips how to eat in these conditions to minimise stomach distress?
@dbooherful3 ай бұрын
@@Maddy-hn3ppTry fasting while you're at work or having a small plate of fruit, veggies, or nuts for those 10 min breaks. I'm a therapist and I typically fast till about 3p when I finish with my last client. Then I'll go home and eat my healthy meal. Combining healthy eating with intermittent fastest/IF is like a super power for your health, gut, and energy.

Hi Emmie. I was wondering if you could share how you cook your zucchini and squash so it is not mushy. II do have a microwave steamer also. Maybe I am adding too much water or cooking too long? Would love to know your method. Ty. :)
@SaraShuffles845 ай бұрын
I usually use frozen veggies, for 6 minutes, and they are a bit mushy but still don’t fall apart I dont add water, if you use fresh vegetables, probably a couple tablespoons of water is all you need . I would start with just 4 minutes and add from there.
