I've been using this coffee brewer for 30 years. The same one. I have replaced the thermal carafe but that's it. It's simple and well made and never, ever fails. I heat the carafe with hot water before brewing and i do close the filter basket before brewing to pre-wet the grinds . I usually only brew 6 cups at a time so i will use the 1/2 open feature on the brew basket. The best coffee brewer ever. No bells and whistles. Just good hand made quality workmanship.

Great machine. Owned mine 6 months and already gone through pack and a half of filter papers. Makes better coffee than my espresso machine, my stovetop bialetti, my French press and my Tassimo pod muncher. Fast heating, fast brewing, the thermos flask (provided you remember to swap the brewing lid out for the insulating lid once the drip has finished) keeps it warm for hours, and fresh. This is a solid, reliable piece of engineering; quite elegant also.

I was hesitant to spend this much, but after watching all these videos, I splurged, and let me tell you, it was worth it!!! There is another video on you tube that explains the machine a bit better. I was confused at first with all the weird parts!!! I am thrilled that I bought this!

My favorite coffee brewing is either with my DeLonghi kMix pulling shots or a French press - but this machine is right up there when I want some brew coffee! I like being able to adjust the flow in the brew basket and the no fuss use of this brewer! Great coffee very time!

Nice video. This is the way for us. I just ordered a Technivorm Moccamaster KBTS. It's the same unit except it has a 1 liter thermal carafe and is 2.2" shorter. Oh yeah, it's $20 less. I cannot wait! Got some good beans waiting!

The water drains from a plastic reservoir, goes to the copper coil for heating, flows up a glass tube and thru a metal head. The filter basket and the brewing lid on the pot (if you use it) are plastic.

It makes me chuckle when people write this "makes the best coffee" or that it "has the 5 year warranty, wow!" Of course it does, all this is is basically a decadently priced water kettle, all it does is bring its content to boil and take up half your kitchen. Moccamaster is good if you run a small bistro or a cafe and need big batches and something that looks good at the same time, and have the time and interest to grind, weight and stir the coffee because thats your job anyway. Or if you have a big family and make a litre of coffee for breakfast. OR if you a 1st-world richkid with a condo who has a huge kitchen and 250+ USD to spend on a kettle. But if you live alone or with your partner and simply want a cup early in the morning, want to be efficient and save time, space and money? Either buy something that belongs in 21st century (with a timer, automatic settings, grinder, and so on, so that you dont have to nance around and prepare everything yourself), OR simply boil the water yourself and spend the money on something that matters (again, a decent grinder and/or coffee beans for a year)

@veetour
@veetour 6 жыл бұрын
684shilmido He explained what he means when he said “it just works”. Basically, the water gets up to the proper temperature throughout the brew cycle. This temperature is 200 F plus/minus 5 F. Not many household coffee makers reach that temperature, so the coffee doesn’t get optimal extraction. Also, the moccamaster is very durable and would last some users 20 years or more, all the while continuing to brew at the proper temperature like when it was new.
