*CORRECTION at* 5:00: It was Walt's WIFE who made the suggestion for Mickey, not his mother. Sorry about that, I made the man sound like Seymour Skinner for a second there.

The Walt Disney Company is one of the most well known brands today, but how did it all begin? and how big is the company today? In this video, we'll find out! Feel free to share this video if you learned something new.

I knew Disney was large but I had no clue they owned most of those media companies. Walt's story is a pefect example of how to embrace failure and learn from it all the while being persistent about what you are passionate about.

I agree the western studios definetely helped them to evolve. But remember in 70 and 80 they stopped following western studio and they chose their own which is still close to western. For example japanese look like europeans in anime. In the most fictional worlds all or most areas look like western countries.

The production cost of an iPhone 6S is less than 200 bucks. The sell price of an iPhone 6S is 1200 bucks. Their profit margin is huge due to overcharging. They aren't the only ones who do it, but they do it more than most companies.
@Sperrus8 жыл бұрын
You can`t just compare the pricetag to the production cost. You also pay for the research, the development, the software, for production and for marketing. And i got an iPhone 6s 64 gb for 575€ used with no scratches... Still a lot compared to some others, but not as crazy as you depict it.

Chinese group) Disneyland (2 theme parks), Walt Disney World (4 theme parks, 2 water parks), Disneyland Paris (2 theme parks), Tokyo Disney (2 theme parks, Shanghai Disney, and Disneyland Hong Kong. This doesn't even include Aulani resort in Hawaii, Disney's private island in the Caribbean called Castaway Cay, all of Disney's cruise ships, Disney's innumerable number of hotels and villas near every theme park, ESPN's Wide World of Sports at Disney World, Disney's vacation club, and all of the shopping centers Disney owns (eg Downtown Disney at Disneyland California and Disney Springs at Disney World).

how is disney not breaking the Anti-trusts laws in the US, like they own mostly all media and can control what we hear and see. Yea there are other companies that have more revenue but, disney pretty much own all of the media. That should be a video on its own.
@Th3CoLoSSuS7 жыл бұрын
which anti-trusts laws are you talking about?
@iftekharahmed67997 жыл бұрын
Disney is not breaking Anti-trust laws because they don't own as many subsidiaries as you may assume. You see, they know how to cultivate their brands hence why they give the impression that they "own everything". If you want companies that are breaking anti-trust laws, look at Time Warner, Comcast and News Corporation.
@swanpride7 жыл бұрын
One year ago I would have told you that Time Warner and Comcast (universal) are both WAY bigger than Disney is. Now, with the Fox purchase (should it go through), Disney has reached their seize, but they can hardly complain about Disney breaking Anti-Trust laws when there are already two other companies which have at least the same seize. In a weird way Disney is actually the underdog who somehow made it. It is the only one of the big six (soon only five) studios which wasn't already Hollywood royalty in the golden age.

4:20 That's bunny bro! Though a few details worth mentioning: When the time came to renew the contract for Oswald cartoons Walt wasn't fired. He asked the chief executive Charles Mintz for more money, as his animation team was criminally overworked and underpaid. Instead Mintz told Walt he'd cut back everyone's pay. So Walt, Ub Iwerks, and a few other animators left Universal voluntarily. I seem to find conflicting information on how hard Walt and Co. took losing Oswald. It seems like something they had to know before they quit and Walter Lantz also got Walt's blessing to keep working on Oswald cartoons. Thankfully Ozzy is back with Disney again and the search for lost lucky rabbit cartoons continues. :3
