Something I discovered just this week after getting it during the pandemic is the power of steam!! I got a steam mop in quarantine since it disinfects and wasn’t that into it. Had it out to steam clothes earlier this week and ended up using it to clean mirrors and glass EASILY and tackle the kitchen cabinets that have dried coffee and bits of oranges from the juicer. Have tried before with sprays and elbow grease and it was such a pain. The steam just melts it off and it’s so easy to then wipe it down. Obsessed!! Helpful with hard water stains too

After months of neglecting the fridge and cabinets, I cleaned the cabinets last week and organized them. It’s amazing to open them and find what I need in 2 seconds! And today I cleaned the fridge. Took all the shelving and containers out and washed them thoroughly. It looks so nice! Next week I plan to tackle the freezer and patio. We will see how well my mental health is doing by then, but I’m glad I’m able to keep my bedroom clean almost everyday! Thank you Auri for helping me get the strength and motivation I needed to get out of this mental fog of hating cleaning. I love it now. It’s so fun ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ As a backstory, I was kicked out of an apartment a few years ago. My apartment wasn’t as bad as some of the ones you take care of, but it wasn’t good. My sister and I cleaned the apartment and made so clean, Auri would be proud. But it wasn’t enough to impress the landlords and ultimately they decided to evict us. We were able to move to another apartment after paying 3x the normal deposit and 1st month rent. We tried harder to keep this place clean. We didn’t want to get kicked out. But it left that nasty scar. I was always on edge, am I going to get kicked out from this place too? The dishes haven’t been done. And my clothes are on the floor. There’s some empty cans on the coffee table. Is that enough for the maintenance people to take pictures and get us kicked out? It was constant constant worrying and anxiety which made me feel sad and depressed. Ashamed and worthless. We did keep up the apartment well, and made the decision to leave to live in a house. I moved back in with my mother to help take care of her and my sister moved in with friends. Thank you if you read any of this. You are a blessing and loved and you worth a lot!

Hi, I used to be a professional cleaning lady having my own business before I had my kids. I just had my total hip replacement surgery and recovering. My place got out of control ( in my point of view, it was still pretty clean and organized 😉) Because of my many months of pain I fall into a depression that did effected my life. I can’t imagine how those people must suffer in their situation. You are so inspirational to me. After my recovery I will start doing something similar that’s you are doing. At least once a month if I help one person It’ll make changes. I understand that KZbin is your busses now. But it doesn’t matter, you deserve every penny plus you giving a lot back ( bedding, supplies, food) The psychological help you giving to the people is priceless ! Many cleaning companies would not do the cleaning job even for a triple of their charges. Got bless you! Keep doing what you doing. When you start your own family things will change. But now you have a power to get more people involved to help others worldwide!

I would love to hear your story. We need more people talking about mental health issues. We are so behind in this area. No one should feel stigma to get the help they need. Our minds are as important as our physical and Dental health. Thank you so much for all that you are doing! ❤💯💥

I just stumbled over this video and when I read the caption I first thought: "Great, another video that just points a finger at people with mental health issues, because they were unable to care for themselves and their surroundings.😠" But after seeing the video I have to congratulate you on a job very well done! You not only show how it's possible to make a start cleaning up, but that it can be really done! Telling the story of that human being and how the downward spiral is connected to his mental health and his apartment, was absolutely great. You used positive speach and were so accepting to this person. I think this is a great video and inspiration for people suffering from mental health issues who got to the point where they can start to change their life. If it's okay for you, I would like to use this video in my class about "mental illness, stress and well being". I am an occupational therapy teacher from Germany. 😉

I would love to hear your story if you feel safe/comfortable sharing 🖤 I’ve known so much pain in my time on this earth. When I felt myself drowning, it was what I call “little mercies” from others that could do great big things to boost my spirit and keep me going. Sometimes it was a professor giving me a little more time on an assignment I was dreading. Or a boss seeing me having a panic attack over a social situation and jumping in to help. Or a friend or even a stranger saying it is ok to not be ok and giving me a moment of peace. A kid or a person seeing my art and saying I have “magic in my hands.” These seemingly small things did (and still do) so much. Cleaning a home like this is a huge “little mercy” and I weep when I see it. Your genuine joy at helping, without judgement, stays with me. I struggle with house keeping, and when I’m stuck I watch your videos and get started. I hear your background music mix playing in my head as I scrub and it makes the experience of cleaning more positive. Depression can be such a dark place, and you bring in so much light and WARMTH. I see people mentioning that the homes may get messy again, and they very well might. I have deep cleaned loved ones’ homes that got like this, more than once. It is so hard to retrain your brain to have the habits needed to maintain. However, there is so much more going on here than cleaning. It’s the kindness, the release of some of the pressure caused by shame and chaos. It’s seeing that all hope isn’t lost, that it IS possible to reverse the mess, and even to do so with joy and no judgement. If your home is cleaned like this, and it gets messy again, you are STILL not a bad person or a failure. You just need to be patient and gentle with yourself and learn how to adjust habits little by little and see what sticks. There is so much more happening here than cleaning, it’s layers of changing perspectives and restoring hope. Sometimes, you need help (and sometimes a lot of it) and that is OK. And one day, when you need less help you can be someone who is there to help others. That’s what being human is about. Much love to you all 🖤 Much love to you Auri 🖤🖤🖤

Very well said. Sometimes, it is far easier to help others, than yourself. It is sometimes that you do not feel you are worth looking after. Others are - but not you. Sometimes it is easier to tackle a job, by pretending you are helping a friend. The effort you put in to try to help a friend or even a stranger, is far more than you would do to help yourself. And it doesn't help to understand it. It just seems impossible to care for yourself.

It's really interesting because the surfaces in the apartment are very durable and seem to come clean easily. Also, I notice very few personal items and wonder if these apartments are for college students? In the US, we would have mountains of personal items and the surfaces would have been totally trashed. Nobody in the US would be sleeping on a tiny wall-mounted bed either. This is a very different lifestyle-not necessarily bad, just different. The narrator/cleaner has a lovely, calm and soothing voice. It is wonderful that she is doing this for people that are struggling.

i'm so proud of jake for surviving and getting help. this story really hit close to home. i suffer from depression and anxiety (i'm on medication and go to therapy regularly), and my flat definitely reflects that. my mum is always asking to come over and help me clean, but it just feels way too embarrassing to me. i don't want my parents to see. they have a few times before and it's always been mortifying and made me want to hurt myself for being so "useless". i wouldn't think of anyone else like this, it's just me. ps. i'd love to hear your story too, auri!

Your parents are offering to help because they love you and want you to be your best self. Please remember this and please allow them to help you. Then you can make them even more proud by keeping it clean. Host dinner once a week or once a month so it pushes you to keep it clean. Don't do it all at once. It didn't get dirty in a day, it don't get clean in a day. Do small areas at a time. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. I go through these moments too but doing small areas at a time has cleaned all but one room where I shove everything I'm not sure of and need to sell so now I only have one room to worry about and I will start tackling that this week. Put on some good music, go for a walk before to raise endorphins. Having a clean home really helps the clutter in our depressed and anxiety ridden minds. You may even find it helps your anxiety!!! You've got this!! Stay strong

First off - thanks Aurikatariina for saying you've been going to therapy for many years! I'd love to hear your story. Second - I've been having a pretty hard week and coming back to Aurikatariina's videos is honestly helping so much. I'm almost tempted to say because they're always so satisfying to watch and of course, it's a 'happy ending.' But maybe it's more like...IRL, if you just start somewhere, and take things one at a time, things will get better and fall into place as you go along, and if you do your best to keep your heart light and full of good things (and sustain yourself with good-vibe music), then the end result will be something especially beautiful. Thanks Aurikatariina for doing what you do with the approach you have, and if anyone out there is struggling too, please take care and take it easy on yourself today

Yes. We want to hear your story too. I sometimes struggle with trash and my home. There’s trauma there from my youth, but also a new trauma with living in a foreign country. The trash situation is so strict. So sometimes I don’t take out my recycling for months. I get yelled at by my neighbors but no one actually helps or tells me when is the correct day. I have a calendar my landlord gave me, but apparently it’s wrong. Then I’ll watch a couple of your videos and get the courage to just go somewhere I know will take my recycling. It’s still not the right way and there’s a lot of guilt I feel from it, but it’s also not the wrong way. Thank you for helping these people. It always helps me feel a little better. Much love from Japan. 💕

@@Midori_Seabreeze You're a beautiful person. I'm sorry some people can be neglecting and mean. Japan, as beautiful as it is I think has a problem. They keep to themselves too much and don't seem to show much emotion. Now, as a culture I don't think that's a problem! I love Japan. But honestly humans need each other. And I think that's why Japan has.... a suicide problem. 💔 America isn't always better. Everyone always looking out for #1. If I see someone struggle I help asap if I can. I've struggled at a job before. Throwing up and running to the bathroom. Did anyone help? No... but that's okay. Probably going a little too deep into this but yeah. Remember you're not alone.

Then I will feel free to just get out ,walk,go to parks etc. This year, I would like to improve my health! Even get more sun! But its hard to enjoy anything when you know things are chaos, when you come home.Small steps, plan, take action! A list, and do only what you can, always a bit is better than nothing! I always start with the garbage and recycling! Sometimes I don't recycle the best, when I need to get ahead. As a rule though, I do. Then one load of laundry, wash a few, to some, or all the dishes. Even just fast, pre-wash, to get the food off! place them aside. Wipe counters. I know all about deep sadness, being in that mind paralysis! I will let you go, I talk too much! 🤐🐦🌷🌷🌈🌞

I have ethics class in school and we recently discussed how according to the Phylosopher Kant doing good by duty is the only true doing good because it has no intent of doing good for yourself. And your videos just proof this theory wrong for me. I don’t understand how helping others(e.g. by cleaning your followers home) because you just love doing what others need help at is not as good. Being able to feel good when you literally don’t do anything for yourself is to me the truest form of a good deed(and to me defines a “good” person). And I just love how positive you are and how you don’t shame others for struggling with something you find so pleasant. Thank you for making the world a better place and restoring my faith in humanity!
