When I was a cast member I met Neil Patrick Harris and saw Kim Kardashian entering the ride. It was very interesting because we were not trained for those situations during regular training, so we had to learn as the celebrity was being brought into the ride. Usually the supervisors would be around or take over certain positions. Guest Services cast would also step in, and often times would start bossing us with no introduction. Fun times.

Story from my mom: She went to Walt Disney World when she was eight years old with her family, and while riding the Prince Charming Regal Carousel with my aunt and uncle (and I think my grandpa too), my grandma sat on the bench nearby watching. Suddenly, a bunch of men in suits were standing by her. They were secret service agents. Who was riding the carousel? Richard Nixon. It was after his presidency, but he was still a well known figure at that point, and still going to the parks. It's a cool story I've always loved hearing.

I've had the good fortune to go to Club 33 numerous times. I've met way more celebrities outside of Club 33 than in it. I recall running into Diana Keaton at least twice, and even got stuck on a POTC boat with her and her kids for about 15 minutes while we waited for the ride to resume. One of my friends was in Michael Jackson's entourage, he was a backup dancer in Captain EO and later went on to be the male vocal lead in two sections of Fantasmic. Anyhow, he had crazy connections and got us into the Matterhorn and upper area of the Haunted Mansion once. It turns out MJ wasn't anywhere as nutty as people thought, he was more down to earth than tabloids ever let you know. Anyhow, the takeaway for me is it is WAY more fun to just be down in the park actually doing stuff than up in Club 33 looking outside and asking "We came all this way, aren't we going to DO something?" Also, there's got to be some amusing stories about celebs who made the list and those who didn't. Jean-Claude VanDamme is kind of famous for calling the park and asking for VIP tour and protection but being turned down. He had to arrive as a commoner. How upsetting. Meanwhile I've seen several A-listers just walking around like normal people and unless you knew how to look past their "street look" to see the celeb underneath the shaggy hair and greasy ballcap, you'd never know they were right there next to you.

Former Disney Channel Stars like Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) and Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) get free admission to the park with their families, VIP tour guides and Club 33 access. Hilary also told of a story where she got a bag of Minnie Ears for free. It's only available for current Disney Stars and those that made Disney a lot of money during their time as teen stardom in getting Disney billions of dollars. I have a bunch of questions about that Cinderella suite- when someone’s staying there, what’s stopping them from leaving and just being in the park at night? I assume they have to have a guard or something who watches all night, because you couldn’t exactly lock someone in the building in case of emergency. Like with hotels that are attached to parks like the ones at DCA that one at least makes sense, you lock the doors to the park because there’s other ones available.
@ReviewTyme6 ай бұрын
You need to take an elevator to get up to the suite, and there’s a little reception desk at the bottom. I imagine a security cast member is stationed here overnight to ensure they don’t enter the park but also keep an eye out for fires, etc.

I have never seen a celebrity at Disneyland. We have done VIP tour three times but stopped because you can get on just as much and have a better paced day with Early Entry and LL and their restaurant reservation service was horrible so thankfully we had made our own reservations - they say it’s part of the service but don’t count on it. You get no multi pass if ride is down so you can’t come back later and ride it like you can with LL up until Park close. If fireworks are cancelled on your VIP day then they won’t let you come the next day to the area. You have to go 7 hours straight - no break in time. It’s not a worthwhile day - but for celebrities it’s a must of course. Also surprisingly not organized - the last time we did it they sent our guide to the wrong place and we called and it took so long. We started 1.5 hour late which messed with our day. Then at the time for World of color they would not even let us sit in empty benches in the area - they made us stand. So bad!!! I cannot stress how bad our last VIP tour was.

Also, the high profile, very publicly talked about act of inviting Nixon to his private rooms does not prove the Walt and Nixon were close. Clearly if they were very close it would have been more of a private thing not covered by media. It was a show because Nixon was V.P. and brought increased business.
